How does your game fit the theme?
You only provide input 2 seconds at a time. Early on, the game is frantically paced and the levels are constantly changing to where you feel like you have no control, but as you advance you are watching your past selves control yourself for sometimes minutes on end. One mistake can make your character lose all control again.

Did your team create the art for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

No

We used pre-existing art

Did your team create the audio for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

Yes

We created all audio during the game jam

Time loop management is a super cool idea! Would be nice if it was a little more clear on the loop management. Thank for sharing!

Really interesting idea. Unfortunately it's just way too frustrating to play and make progress. Often times I would press space too late and completely reset all the progress for a different area. Didn't want to finish the game after a few times of that. I put in like 20 minutes and would love to finish the game after some polishing.

Yeah, I've since thought of some ways to help mitigate resetting the wrong time loop if I were to polish the game some more. I probably should have someone other than myself playtest it, ha! Thanks for playing!

This idea is really, really cool, I love the concept of being broken in 4 different places ! It needs more guiding to be really enjoying, but I liked the mechanic a lot

Developer

Thanks! I originally intended on starting with one and building up to four loops, but time constraints and all made that difficult to execute! I'm happy with the mechanic, but I agree that I throw you in the deep end pretty quickly after one room.

I like the idea of this game. However, I couldn't bring myself to finish it because the cycle times increased really long and I kept pressing the button slightly after the previous cycle finished so I had to re-find old objects. This could potentially be expanded into a full game, but it would need some serious tweaks. I did appreciate the fact that you don't have to repeat cycles where you have all the objects and I really liked the art style.

Developer

Thanks for playing long enough to complete at least one of the loops! I have definitely since thought of ways to help prevent you from interrupting the wrong loop, but of course that's too late for the jam.

Really interesting concept, but just found it very disorientating and not sure what to do next. Difficult to keep track of what was going on

Developer

Yeah, I throw you in the deep end probably a bit too quickly. Making the tutorial more than one room and slowly introducing the other loops would have been the way to go, but time constaints and all made that tricky to execute!

Totally makes sense and all part of a short term Jam right :-) - if you take the idea further (and I think you should as its a really interesting idea) then the on boarding for the player will make a huge difference. Get it right and you could be onto a real winner here

I unfortunately did not work out how to do anything. There is tutorial text something about a "4" but it disappears within 2 frames.

Developer(+1)

Perhaps I should have put all the text on one screen, haha. The controls are explained on the first one but the second screen was just meant for more tips/etc. The "tutorial" came in hot at the last minute. Lesson learned there!

GameJams are all about learning! We did some mistakes too and will do things better next time. Keep it up! 🙂

Fun but also kinda complicated. It is an interesting interpretation of the theme. Make sure to check out mine: https://llamaking1.itch.io/herding-cats

"Fun but also kinda complicated" is my brand, haha.
