hungry like a shark i like meatballs this isn’t a haiku

Really liked the premise and how it’s introduced. Some games lack decorum though. And I loooved the javelin flying screen !

I liked the mechanic ! A bit hard to grasp sometimes what you “can “ or “cannot” do, and you end up clicking a lot, but it is nice to combine grapple and interactivity like that.

A bit confusing to have to interact on the game area AND on the bottom screen. It was cool to have 3d graphcis, a nice change from other pixel art games Overall I think the game lacked a bit of “punch”

Simple, but the controls are chiefs kiss Loved it ! A bit too hard for my taste, but definitely got me on the edge !!

I would have liked a better indication of where should I go. I really, really liked the pixel art and the music (but from afar ;) ) It reminded me of Hyper Light Drifter a bit. The concept is nice, I especially liked that your life AND the light are related. I found out that sometimes, dashing away from ennemies was the safest option, maybe closed rooms would have been nice Also, it would have been cool to have a different animation when you are far from the lantern, to signify more the power up !

Like the mechanic ! It’s interesting to have keyboard + mouse controls like that. The character animation is cute also. I was a bit frustrated with a demon hitbox tho.

So cute

You got something good here

Niiiiiiice

I puked

Yessss losing control as you become stronger is nice ! You can’t even stop when they want to free you…I can just imagine the character killing whole cities and not being able to stop !

The game is so beautiful !

Just as silvermonger said, I think it needs balancing, but it is one of the most polished game I’ve seen in this jam !

This idea is really, really cool, I love the concept of being broken in 4 different places ! It needs more guiding to be really enjoying, but I liked the mechanic a lot

Very fun, I spent the most time on this game I think ! The different weapons are a really nice touch, could see myself playing such a game on my phone !

I think the bugs come too often, so it’s a very frustrating experience to have to stop every 3 seconds, but the originality is very nice. I like the graphics and the story baked into it !

Too much going on for me, I would like a slower game with all those mechanics tho !

Too frustrating for me to avoid my own bullets constantly, but I like the idea ! Nice graphics/music.

Nice graphics/music, too frustrating for me to have to avoid my own bullets more than the ennemies, but I like the idea !

Did not realize I was supposed to hit the debris… WIsh that was clearer, the concept is fun tho ! Maybe the speed is a bit too much to handle ?

I sense a good idea, but could not for the life of me play this game. wasd controls for a frenchie with azerty keyboard is just not playable I guess.

I don’t know what I’m supposed to do, but I like the idea of spawning some fights on a map. Wish I could do more !

I liked the music, and the idea. But sometimes fire spawned too close to the player, literally under them so I lost even while being the fastest I could, which was a bit frustrating.

Finished the game, this is so far my favourite of this jam ! I had fun, and I really liked the simplistic graphics too. Nice concept, well executed !

Nice setting, I really liked the music and was surprised to see such a chill premise in this jam. The controls ruined the experience for me, as the gliding was too strong and the shark was too fast. But it’s a nice poetic jam game :)

I did not know what to do. The graphics seemed nice enough tho.

A bit hard to play, but the core mechanic is engaging enough. Would be great as a complete game, with a gradual difficulty, and more shields / ennemies patterns !

I like the intro screen, but it gets a bit boring after a while. Maybe adding more ennmies and an exponential growth, rather than just linear ?

Such a great metaphoric game

Thanks for this experience, I feel safe now.

Hey y’all !

Just wanted to say kudos for everyone finishing the game jam, using the theme and building everything from scratch n 3 days !

I tried to do it all alone, and while I had the rough idea and loop for my game by Friday, it took me waaaaay too much time to build a prototype and to find quality assets…

But that’s all good, as it was my first jame and I learnt a lot for the next one :

-Pick a simple idea. And make it even simpler. Thinking about different levels ? Just make one. Thinking about different ennemies ? How about JUST ONE. Thinking about a range of power-ups and lots of elements ? You know what to do : JUST PICK ONE

-Prepare your assets, pay for some or be ready for your quality to be super shitty (yeah I said it) I mean don’t get me wrong, it is cool to have free assets to experiment or even to ship little games. But art matters A LOT and you should really invest in that…

-Maybe pair up ? I tried to do it all alone, it would have definitely went different with someone else handling the assets or the game logic. That’s one thing I’m trying next time !

-You’ll learn more in a week-end than in weeks of regular work ! And for me, that’s the best part. I did something I would have had to learn maybe in the span of days, just in a few hours :)

Anyway, I’m looking forward to see what you all cooked up, and thanks to the organizer for putting everything together :)
