Nice idea! I think I didn't saw any other games with this take on the idea. Like some other comments said, some more polish would make this game feel a lot nicer!  Really cool to see that you still are working on it.

Also, by playing and looking at the source code, I think you should normalize the  player's direction vector: this way, while moving diagonally the player won't move faster than going only on a horizontal or vertical direction. Or maybe that's intended!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for the feedback, you had some reason to normalize, I didn't pay attention to the diagonal speed, already corrected!

Pretty good game, really challenging, very nice idea. Though, the switching key changes a bit too fast, and having some more visual feedback when it changes would be useful. (also audio) Overall a nice game! :)

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback, even the visual feedback to show who is in the current control that you are doing. Thanks a lot!

A very interesting idea, with a unique premise! The art was ok and the gameplay was very smooth!

I would like to see any take this score on... also btw great game, could just use some visual improvements. But other than that it is quite fun and challenging

Developer (1 edit)

I didn't go over 13 points ... I'm ashamed now ... I don't know if I laugh or cry, lol.
I changed the speed according to the score, no one else will get such a high score ;)
Thank you for playing!

Yeah, there's a bug in the game that made me get that score. If you have never moved any of the charecters their "shoot direction" will be totaly random on each shot. So by simply not moving at all and just spamming shoot very fast you can shoot in every direction.

Developer

I put this randomness for some reason that I forgot, but I removed it now that you spoke, thank you so much for sharing!

Hi, the idea is very interesting. I would recomend you increase the time to swicth the keys to change the side, because the game is a little hard. Great Job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, Márcio! I changed the mechanics, now the speed of the troops increases according to the score, and only one key per game to change, to balance the current difficulty

I like how you switch sides and you have to try and keep control over two sides while only being able to move one square at a time. It's a unique idea and it might actually have some potential. I didn't like the top label displaying the switch key. Purely gameplay wise it wasn't fun for me to always look at that label. What I would've done instead was having one switch key, but with some more rooms so even though you don't have to look at the label you still feel like you have to take control. Sound was lacking I think :/ But that's fine, 48 hours isn't nearly enough to make an overall perfect game. The UI and other graphics were fine in my opinion. In short, well done and good luck with the game :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, really having to look up to switch sides is kind of difficult, the original idea was to change the player control randomly, but I didn't fix the error in the code in time to submit. I will write down your suggestions!

this is a cute game and the screen switching is fun, but random control swaping in my opinion is almost never fun, i think if there were more screens and the screen switch was random it would have made a more fun game.

Developer

I couldn't fix it in time to submit where the player randomly loses control, and the other side controls. You wouldn't have any more fun, lol. Thank you so much for the feedback!

The mechanism to switch between screen is fun and works well but it is currently very hard. Only be able to score less than 10. I think the game be more fun if a little easier by putting less enemy. I think having just square for this kind of game is perfectly okay but just adding just a little sound when shooting could really improve the experience.

Developer

I'm working on it now, thank you so much for the feedback!

See i think this falls under difficult to control/unfun rather than Out of control.
Take this with a grain of salt as i have very low dexterity and these games are not great for me, but initially for the tutorial i would say instead of saying ????? for the switch sides, i would do something like [displayed at top of the screen]

secondly, i think if you added like a time slow down to the side you arent controlling then the game would flow a little nicer, other than that, the controls are really slick, and i like the core concept. with a bit more feedback to the user i think it would wound out really nicely.

Developer

I'll take your points into account, I'm working on the visual part now and improving the gameplay. For one out of control, the player loses the turn randomly, and the other takes control, but due to a problem I didn't submit in time. Thank you so much for the feedback!
