Really Good job felt polished and fit the theme well! I hope you continue this project after the jam

only things I have to add is there needs to be a way to pause or get out of full screen if your not going to have it in the browser

Thank you! Really appreciate your feedback ๐Ÿ˜„

Wonderful game! The character is super cute, I love that it "talks" to us, and the idea of it wrestling control from us is clever and original. In it's current form, the fun wears out fairly quickly as the obstacles never change and there doesn't seem to be any telegraphing of the rock, which makes it feel like eventually losing all the health is inevitable. If there were different projectiles, varied in how they come across the screen, how quickly and how easy they are to telegraph, as well as different platforms and obstacles, this game could easily be a full release (and yes, I definitely understand that these things likely weren't present due to time constraints, so this is certainly an amazing game to have come out of a 48-hour period).

Great work! Yours is only the second game I've given a perfect score to in the Overall category (not to imply that my votes are particularly important, but just to express that I'm conservative in handing out perfect scores, so when I do, they have to be worth it).

Really thank you, your comment made me smile ๐Ÿ˜„
yep, I really wanted to add a lot of variation and improvements to the entire game, but time wasn't on my side ๐Ÿ˜…
Thank you for your rating btw ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Of course! It was super cute! I'm excited to see what you can do with more than 48 hours!

Nice job! Love the character art and the crt effect. The projectiles come down extremely fast though, so it kind of just feels like periodic unavoidable damage as opposed to a gameplay challenge/obstacle

Developer

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

The reason they come that fast is because of their look, I didn't have time to make it look great, so I just made it barely visible ๐Ÿ˜‚

Awesome game! A couple of the other games have done a similar mechanic, but having the character be aware of the players involvement and fighting against their controls was really unique and had me very engaged. The aesthetics were great, the pixel combined with the grainy filter gave it a really cool look, and the music was fantastic.

If I had to give any feedback for the future it would just be to do a quick second pass on some of the platforming mechanics, sometimes the character would bump their head against the ceiling but their upwards momentum kept carrying the upwards once they got unstuck. Nothing game breaking though!

Overall a really fun experience, thanks for making it!

Really thank you, glad you liked it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
I was aware of that bug before submitting the game, but didn't have time to fix it ๐Ÿ˜“

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜„

Well done! I was surprised at how not frustrated I was with the random jumping, it never felt game ending, more like an unexpected obstacle to overcome. It was delightfully glitchy

Developer

LOL! Thanks for checking my game out!

Great job! What engine did you use for this?

Developer

Thank you! Actually was planning on using my own custom game engine, but it wasn't ready yet so I had to use unity

Kinda annoying when your character randomly disobey you lol. It was fun tho, Nice job!

Developer

thanks, yep such a weird concept but was the best I could do ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sometimes fun games are the simples ones, the audio was nice, I thought it would get annoying after a while but nope it was right on point. I would advice you when making games where player can't see whole map, give us some progress bar so that we know there is end, because at some point I thought the game was randomly generated and endless

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for your reply, actually the map is randomly generated (bec. I didn't have time to design a map) but it is 80 platforms in total, will consider your advice in future games.

I had this idea of a character with the more health you loose, the more out of control they get. Until it is impossible and you lose lol. Didn't have the time to make that game though I feel like your game scratched the itch for that!

Developer(+1)

would have been a great idea, but we only had 2 days ๐Ÿ˜“

lol sounds like basically the opposite of what I made, the more health, the more out of control

I'll check it out ;)
