How does your game fit the theme?
The main playable character is unable to be directly controlled by the player. Instead you must guide its path, while it's out of control.

Did your team create the art for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

Ooh we made a raft game too! This would make a very fun phone game. I hope you develop it further after the rating period has ended! Come and check out ours and we can compare notes!

ty, im travelling now but will do!

Awesome idea. I agree with previous comments that the river's influence on the raft needs to be a little greater. I dunno if the raft itself has its own speed, but at one point for a giggle I turned it completely around and it went upstream. I had a lot of fun with it though! Add a couple extra mechanics and I think it would be really engaging.

Developer

yeah it has its own force, originally it was going to be like a bumper car and you had to stumble around dodging objects, but then I decided to change it to the river raft. I just left the physics the same and kinda that was that. I think I might refine it into a mobile game.

Really cool game, but it gets pretty annoying when the boat rotates, and you can't do anything about it

Submitted

That's such a cool concept! I really enjoyed it :D

It's a really fun game!!! But the annoying thing is when you try to stop the boat then it goes on its side and you can't make it go forwards.

Developer

Yes, I think I need to make the river push it more.

Neat concept! I would've liked to be able to delete lines myself, as well as the boat got stuck on the lines and had almost non-stop collisions with them at some points, which was a shame. Graphics are serviceable, but mainly the physics/mechanics need just a tad more work to feel fluid.

I liked the concept. You can improve your art but very nice!

Thanks! Yeah, I think teaming up might be the way to go with that haha

Nice take on this year's theme! The physics of the boat could've been polished a bit more but overall a pretty neat game!

Developer

Originally it was going to be a bumper car, not a raft. Then I never actually changed the physics of it, but I should have updated how the force works on it. As for the line I'm mostly happy with it, but if you try to draw and it touches the boat things get messy. I think I need to make a "no draw zone" around the top part of the screen. What in particular seemed janky to you?

Gotta agree with most of what modern_mail said, cool concept, great for the prompt, and I thought the visuals were good, just needs a bit more mechanical polish

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, what do you think about the mechanics feels off? I'd love to improve it

So stuff like getting stuck on the banks, or sometimes the raft would go really really slow when you try to redirect it. Stronger currents or rapids to speed up might help with that? I dunno just spitballing a couple ideas

Good project and concept for 48 hour game jam

Developer

Thanks!! <3

I liked the concept, though sometimes the execution was a little bit rough: I ended up getting stuck on the bank in ways that didn't feel fair.

I did like the use of sound, I think you could do even more if you fleshed out the different interaction states (e.g. scraping along the bank, losing air to a sharp rock, etc.)

Developer

Thanks for playing, yes the raft is supposed to be hard to control. I think if I remade the game I'd make smooth edges for the river bank. I didn't have time to add lots of sounds, or make the art look that great. Its a jam game lol, my last one didn't even have sound.
