I like how the music/visuals change the more stressed you are! It's a cool concept in general.

One thing that I think might be improved is the UX. Somehow it doesn't feel natural to use. For some actions you need the mouse, and for others - the keyboard. Perhaps it would be better to make everything keyboard controllable? Or maybe change the ratio so that one needs to press more keys on the KB and click fewer things with mouse? Right now I feel like I'd be faster if I can just use the keyboard, and that the constant switch between mouse and kb, as well as some animations are slowing me down. This raises my IRL stress! :D

Developer

The balance between mouse and keyboard is completely intentional in making interactions more varied and stressful, I can see how it could cause problems though.

Good take on the theme, not the most original on the 'Overwork' type of game, but well executed in term of passing. The art is fine, filter on music and post-processing sell the idea of being stress out, and didn't really encounter any bug. Answering email seem slow though, we should be able to answer as soon as possible. Right now, we have to wait to long for the animation to finish, so it's not really possible to delay our inevitable demise into burnout :)

Overall good work !

The timing reflects the short amount of time for an email to be sent, and allowed us to make modifications for when the computer is slowed down. I persoanlly think it's better that way but thanks for the feedback!

Wow, what a game ! :o

Stress at work is well transcribed, and you feel overworked very quickly ^^'
The blur/ chromatic aberration effect may be a bit too strong at times, but it brings a lot to the atmosphere (along with the other distortions), becoming more and more stressful (:

Great job ! :D

A very original idea, maybe me a little stressed out while playing it. I enjoyed my time with it and feel like it has a very nice aesthetic quality to it.

Really fun and original game. If I had one nitpick, it'd be to turn down the chromatic aberration just a bit, it becomes impossible to read the messages, and I couldn't even see my score at the end. But apart from that I couldn't say anything else , It's quite good.

Developer

Yeah I agree with you there, also thought it was a bit much but never took time to actually tone down the value.

Im afraiI personally wont be able to rate your game... Ill ask the others on the team if one of them can.

Nice execution of the idea, it does a good job stressing the player, maybe it needs some work on the audio. Great game!

Developer

Could you be more specific? Would love to know what part bothered you

Nice Game! I really did feel overworked. Maybe you could have random events that pauses the game(dialogue box)  and ask you to make a decision, depending on your choice it could reduce your stress/make you feel better.  I liked the blur effect and the audio slowing down.

I personally can't relate to this game, cause I don't get that much messages in a year :)

it's an interesting concept but I didn't understand how you get the job done.

And it's fun btw :)

You simply click on the email icon and then press the related key. Answer enough emails before the deadline runs out and you complete a piece of work

Submitted

Oh! I thought they're only for reputation, and you work when you don't answer your messages or emails :)

nice job! I like the fake out by having the giant letter as the email thumb. There's a good idea here but I think you could speed up animations and add a little variety to the interactions to pick up the pace and keep it interesting.

Had fun with it ! Thanks!

Developer

What variety are you referring to? Im all ears if you have any ideas
