I like the ide of this, I think it could have used a bit more polish to really sell the whole concept. Really enyjoed the character animations tho :)

The ideia is very good and worth exploring. Unfortunately the game needs a little more polish on the controls and variety of stages and changes to the mechanics. Ironically I kept getting upside down stages were your controls are reversed, so I really didn't have to adapt to controls changing, taking out part of the magic.

As a suggestion you should instead of just switching between platformer mechanics you could switch between three or four different genres, like in one stage you have a platformer and the next you need to solve a puzzle or talk to a NPC.

Developer

Thank you for the suggestion! We had a lot of ideas that unfortunately feel short due to time constraints. On top of this, we did not allow enough time for bug tests. We will be continuing this after the jam and hopefully create something better than this.

We really do appreciate the feedback! We've been working on improving the mechanics and systems since the end of the jam and will be updating the more stable release. I hope you will try it out again during that time!

The idea is definitely a nice one and has a lot of potential, but the execution is a little lacking. Art is all around good except for the UI dialogues which couldve used something else than the default unity UI. I had to reload the game quite a few times because my character just wouldnt move anymore, but bugs are bugs I get it if you couldnt fix that in time. As someone else already said, the levels do get a tad repetitive after a few minutes (ive ran across the same dev dialogues a few times, and the only mechanical differences ive encountered are speed, direction switch and gravity switch). Still love the idea, and when the levels work they are kind of fun (though getting stuck on walls is a pain)

Thank you for the feedback, it means a lot! We've been working on improving our systems and will release a more stable version of the judging period if you'd like to check it out! We've addressed many issues including wall friction and crashing levels.

I found that the levels became very similar after playing for a couple minutes, But the Idea's really good.

Developer

yes, unfortunately we didn't put too much attention onto the levels as we were focused on system bugs haha

But in the stable release after the judging period, hopefully we will have more variable designs and play! Feel free to check it out once updated!

Its a good idea and has a lot of potential.

Developer

Thanks! You can check out the stable release after the judging period to see what we've done to explore more on the potential!

Along with hard-locks there's collision issues and random deaths. Technically it's in a rough state, but there's the idea of a randomly generated set of BOTH levels and mechanics is definitely interesting.

Developer

yes, we've addressed the friction on walls in the stable release coming out after the judging period.  Sometimes the death seem random, but on the collision change mechanic, the coins actually kill you when you pick them up. You still have to pick them up, it just strains your time 😅

The main menu music was fantastic, although you have some collision issues with the side of platforms.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the music, our audio person blew us away as well! We have actually addressed the issue of sticky walls in the stable release coming out after the judging period if you'd like to check it out.
