I think the idea is sound but I found it missing a bit of challenge (the enemies were easy to kill).

Cool concept with nice visuals. The gameplay felt a little undirected (unclear on the direction to go) but other than that, nice experience!

I played it here:

Amazing art! Interesting idea with the puzzles, but sometimes it was somewhat hard to manipulate the animals :)

Loved the artwork the music and the puzzles. Combat could be a little more juicy

Thank you so much for submitting your amazing game XD. The game reminds me a lot like Pikmin, my favorite game :]. However, I never kept any of the animals(I would always disband them after an puzzle) because they blocked a lot of narrow trails I wanted to go through. Also, the enemies were very easy to defeat. The art is extremely well drawn and I loved playing the game from start to finish.

Thanks for the replay! yeah I was planned to make the sprites moving automatically and not block the player, but haven't got the time. I was planned to make the enemies more powerful and the player extra weak, so you would need them to be around you and protect you. Well, time limit again haha. Thanks for liking it!

First of all amazing art :o The design of the spirits and enemies are incrediable. The puzzles are a bit basic but fun to solve.

The only problem i have with this game is the movement and weird controls. The movement is laggy or the camera cant keep up with the players movement im not sure :/ Also i think the dash key and disband spritis key should be swapped but that is just my preference.

Other than these small issues i loved the game. Also the sound effects makes the game more responsive and fun to play :D

I enjoyed this one nice work :D

thanks for liking our game! Sorry for the bad experience! I made a new version to fix some laggy issues and also changed the dash, so now you can dash directly with the mouse! Let me know (if you have chance ofc) what do you think or if you still met the laggy! thanks! https://flavedogame.itch.io/spirit-link

Nice artstyle

A fun and very pretty Puzzle/Action/Dash-em-up! Great take on the jam theme, and a nice implementation of the portal-style button press puzzles. I feel like there is a lot of potential for some very compelling puzzles with the core mechanic if you keep going with this! It felt really good to link together a bunch of animal sprite companions and dash around in open spaces, destroying the enemies. Beautiful aesthetic and great sfx/soundscape (although could be a bit loud at times when linking multiple sprites at the same time). Really good work by the whole team, a fun, beautiful and very unique game overall, that also fits the theme quite well.

Very beautiful visuals. Great job on the game!

The connect sound tends to stack when collecting many spirits at once making it quite loud/high pitched.

Super laggy but cool artstyle!

Beautiful painterly art style :)

Ineteresting design and idea, but it's to hard for me.

Love the style and we both used the same mechanics  :P I do have to say that this hurt my ear drums a little bit, but other than that, it's great! Haha.

thanks for liking it! sorry for the sound lol. I just played your game very interesting! Love it!

Developer

that was my fault. I normalized all my audio because I assumed it would be mixed by whomever was implementing the tracks and by the time I realized they couldn’t do that I had run out of time to correct it. Won’t be making that mistake this year 🤦‍♀️

I loved the art! although my slow pc was dying trying to run the game... it was a bit laggy for me
