Cool game, but the hunter is getting stuck very easiely and it is very slow!

I love the idea that you are connected to your enemy, but i have some critique:

1. PLEASE make the game faster. Make it so the enemy matches the player´s speed.

2. The enemy often sticks to walls.

3. I love the color scheme and simple art of your game, but i noticed your UI isn´t that great, so here are some tips:

  • Use a different font then arial, especially for the story  a different font would make it much easier to read. Another thing i noticed with the story is that you could have inserted little drawings or graphics to make it less tideous to read.
  • Make the main menu aligned to the center. It´s also a cool idea you need to move to click the buttons, but just write "WASD" with a graphic of the keys and the player will get it.
  • The restart button looks less clean and modern than the rest of the graphics and UI. It seems like drawn in 2 minutes, just download one or make it fit the style more.

I hope the feedback helped you, would be nice if you could check out my submission too. :)

1. The enemy needs to be a little bit slower but i'll make him a lot faster. Currently his speed is 159 and the players is 160. I'll change it to 159.9.

2. I'll give him a circle collider. He currently has a rect collider.

3.1: it's opensans but i get your point.

3.2: nice idea. I'll replace the text with icons

3.3: i'll replace the graphic for the restart button. it was drawn in less than 2 minutes xD

I love the Idea! Wish I could move faster or that the enemy matched my speed. Enemy also seemed to get caught on obsticals

This is the second time I see this interpretation of the game but yours is unique in that instead of the enemy ramming towards you every few seconds you only get hurt if you get too close. I like the simple mechanic and easy controls but the game feels slow to me. It is like a ball and chain situation here where I am dragging this thing that does not want to cooperate.

Maybe if there was a way to "taunt" the enemy to rush towards you so you can move faster and maybe also use that ramming force to take down the other enemies, that might help things out. Perhaps it could be something where you could "tug" at the tether to force the enemy to almost slingshot towards you but you need to move out of the way to not get hurt so be careful when you do it and how much space there's between the two.

What I'm saying is that the idea there but it is just missing that something to either create tension, a sense of urgency, or at least help speed up the game so that it does not feel like you are moving one pixel at a time with a disjointed body that can get stuck on walls :D (hope that makes sense)

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. i'll look which of this idea will fit the game. I already thought about a ramming-mechanic but there wasnt enough time for that and i had no idea how i can implement that. I currently just block the movements of the player when he is too far away of the enemy. And then i just draw a line between them.

I do think you want to remove the enemy friction the enemy ball got stuck between a triangle and a wall and I couldn't break him free. Cute game though.

Developer

I'll give him a circle collider. This fixes the problem

Submitted

Nice take on the theme! Are you setting friction to the enemy ball? Waiting for it to slide through an edge seems to take forever. Make the enemy go faster with acceleration might be good! Overall, good work!

Developer(+1)

I forget to change its collisionshape from rect to circle, so he gets stuck :(

Good simple game and fits the theme perfectly. I would have liked for the movement to be a little faster

Nice game.

1, The enemy is too slow.

2, The level takes a while to load.

3, The story text is too long, simplify It.

4, I think that the character is too slow as well.

Besides those, nice game.

I would be very happy if you would play my game.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback :)

It would be great if you could answer the following questions:

How long are the loading times? I haven't got a very good PC and i have none. On which platform did you play(If on Browser: Which one Firefox 89, Chrome 91, etc)? Maybe it is just on this platform. I need this to find the reason for the loading times.

Submitted

I am on Chrome on Windows 10 and It takes about 0.5 seconds to 1 second.

nice idea and concept, although the movement was a little sluggish for me. Overall, good job!

Nice Game and it was fun and i love the mechanisms

Can you pls play my game???

Submitted

Amazing! Love the dynamic of working together even though he's trying to kill you! 8/10

A good idea, but it is a little too slow for my taste as others have said before :)

It is fun, pretty and no bugs. Well done! I love the eyes direction, that change if the balls go in one direction or another.

Submitted

Nice little game, but characters should be faster :D I got bored after a little while ;p

Submitted

Good idea, but I would like the characters to move a little faster.

Developer

I did not notice that. But i'll try to find a better speed.

A great game idea! I enjoyed playing this :) The only thing (from my point of view) that can be improved is the movement of the sibling, as it gets stuck too easily.

Developer(+1)

Yeah. This is the second thing i'll try fix. (The first is fixing my spaghetti code xD)
