The puzzles felt difficult and some items were placed in a way where I couldn't see them well, but the puzzles were still fun nevertheless and provided an "aha" moment for me. The game does dip in frames when I walk near the shrubbery and whatnot, but the movement felt really solid.

Developer

Thanks for the remarks! Glad you got that aha moment, that's what puzzle games are always striving for as far as I'm concerned haha. We will focus more on optimization in future jams :)

Looks like a good game! But I couldn't figure out what to do first.

Bummer! Thanks for giving it a shot though :)

Give me a hint.

I assume it flushes the water first, but nothing responds.

I'm thinking that the order is: move the waterwheel, put out the flame, move the windmill, gather light, light up the darkness.

But I can't go on because the first move doesn't respond.

Developer

Ah, you are along the right lines (which I'm kind of glad about because that means some of the pieces make sense). There is a much simpler way to deal with the flames though. You don't have to put them out, but you can't just reach your hand into them. Look around for something that you can use to grab the wheel out of the flames. It should be nearby.

Ah, thanks. I'd been playing for a few dozen minutes and hadn't noticed this at all, perhaps because of the textures.

This seemed to be the only place I got stuck, and after that, I was able to finish the game smoothly. Nice game :)

My PC had a hard time running your game haha ! But I'm glad I kept playing, I loved it ! This is soo much work. The puzzle was great, not to complex but still satisfying to see the island transforming, and I loved the sound design. I was so happy to see the last puzzle ! Keep up the good work :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for powering through! Glad you got to see the last puzzle, we spent a lot of time making it look good :)

Developer

Artist here.  Thank you for your kind words!  The visuals need a lot more optimization than what we were able to do here, but we're glad you could get it running enough to enjoy it!

Loved it! I beat it, but the last puzzle was a bit obtuse. Otherwise a fantastic MYST style. Great job! You're the only other first person game I've seen this jam.

Developer(+2)

The last puzzle is difficult for most people, I'd like to spend more time making it clearer. Thanks for checking the game out! We first person-ers gotta stick together haha

Artist here.  Thank you for pointing out the MYST inspiration.  We took a lot from that style and tried to push it in our own way.

well done!

Really impressive! Gave me the good old Myst vibe!

On the down side: some work must me done on the optimisation... I have a beast of a pc, but it ran on something like 15 fps... and maybe show a little more what we are targetting, because interacting with the objects was sometime tedious.

It gave me just what it needs of hard thinking to make me dance between little frustration and little sense of accomplishment. Not revolutionary but nicely done! And it's a complete game, with a nice ending! Not a small feat in the 48h of the jam!

Hey thanks so much for checking it out! I appreciate your feedback and playing it all the way through to the end! I saw it run poorly on one other PC, but it wasn't a beast (didn't even have a dedicated vid card) so I didn't anticipate it being a huge problem. I added in some quality settings at the last second, but didn't have time to tweak them so not sure they helped very much.

Also glad you got Myst vibes from the game, we definitely took inspiration from it and games like it.

Developer

Artist here.  Thank you for pushing through it and for your feedback!  We do need to put a lot of time into the optimization for this, particularly for the tree packages, which weren't adequately LOD'd and generate a lot of drawcalls.  I wish we had more time so I could really nail the aesthetic down here!  I had a ton of fun generating assets for it and putting them all together.

Thank you!

Well, I tried to launch your game on my older compter (6 year old, but cutting edge at the time), and it ran way more smoothly... Don't know where does the problem come from, on my state of the art computer.

Great presentation.

Thank you!
