The game is super original and the music is really good.
Had a good time watching the dev stream ;)
Very fun and wholesome game!
I set out to beat the medium difficulty without missing any apples, which was a nice challenge, but I managed to do it :)
Good job!
It's really fun but quite hard to control when switching characters. And the sonudtrack is awesome :D
I can't believe how much I hate the music, it's perfect. Really gives off that "off-the-wall children's game" aesthetic. Hard mode feels pretty much impossible, trying to match the notes on both bears, but the fact that there are any difficulty settings at all is amazing. Good work all around
Thank you! I mapped in the song quite late in the process and found out the song was way too hard to play, that's why I added a simple system for difficulty settings.
"You control 2 apple-hungry giraffe-bear-people, which share a neck. "
That premise alone is worthy of praise. Wild games like this are the reason i will never stop participating in game jams. Y'all are just so beautifully creative. I love it. And the music in this game was wonderful. Very quirky and cute and derpy. Loved it.
Unfortunately, the controls lost me really hard. Easy was easy enough to figure out eventually, but it wasn't clear that each key corresponded to a different music bar. I think laying out the keys differently would help. For example, putting W A S D on each respective bar, and spacing them out a bit?
--W----
A-------
-------D
----S---
This way, the key layout is maintained, but it's easier for players to see which key corresponds to which bar.
Overall, very nice presentation. Well done on making this in just 48 hours!
Thanks for the kind words! And yes, I came to that same conclusion after I submitted the game. Putting the controls in a column behind the player would have been better ':)
Hahaha so cute! Now the yum yum yum stucks in my head.
Nice idea. The graphics are quite cute. The collection sound doesn't really work with the great background music though.
Thanks! We first created a song with the melody baked in, but we eventually went to background music and separate sound files for each note on the piano, because we wanted the melody to only play if you grab the notes. The small sound bytes could be better, but all parts of the "sound for games" was really new to us.
Cute and clever! :)
Thanks Justinacube!
