I really like the aesthetics and the idea!I was unable to complete it because I no longer found "dots" and the arrows did not help me because it pointed out of the map.
Yeah, we also noticed that the indicator arrow is kinda buggy. Thank you amdotblacksheep for the kind words and for playing!
The art was very cute, but I wasn't sure how this related to the jam theme. Also I found it very easy to just kill all the killable enemies and then just float around pretty much without threat.
This could definitely be expanded into a full game but I do think it needs more work. Having the squid draw the lines themselves instead of collecting dots would go a long way toward making the player feel more involved. Something like that.
Great suggestions Bersekrer, thank you!
I love the adorable art style. I was a little confused though what I was supposed to do at first and how it related to the theme. but it was a very cute game! good job!
Thanks for the feedback errol333, I agree with your points!
the little doodle squid is SO adorable!! I like the idea that the squid squirts ink, going hand in hand with the ink/paper theme. And the way the monsters are in red pen. So clever, so much charm. The dot to dot idea is also adorable, and a great interpretation of the theme. I wish I would have been able to see what the dot to dot turned out to be. I'll have to try again later. :)
With the dot to dot thing, I think it would be really neat if the player could see the picture starting to appear. What if the doodle squid left a small dotted line trail wherever he goes, and once two dots are connected, that trail dissapears and connects into one solid line? The line could be really light grey so it's not too distracting, but still visible!! It would also be neat if the dots had numbers like a real dot to dot! and maybe a meter with "dots left to collect" so the player knows how close they are?
Also, given how long the player needs to stay alive on the map in order to see the picture, I think having the game be one shot is a bit too harsh. Maybe instead the doodle squid could have lives? 3-5 or so? And maybe even some bonus life pickups on the map! :D
I feel like these suggestions would help more people stay on the map long enough to see the result of the squid's journey!!
Really great game though! Best of luck in the jam!

Hey!
I love your idea with the light grey line, it would probably improve the experience a lot! I also agree with the rest of your points that the level is too hard, you gave us some great suggestions to improve the game.
Huge thank you for the feedback Scoot-o-Speed-Studios! :D
Cute game. Felt nice moving around, but it felt a little bit unfair when going fast an being unable to see the enemies. Otherwise, the animations of the masks were super smooth, and following the line at the end was very nice. Good work!
I totally agree with your feedback vladdeSV, thank you for commenting!
The art and animation is great! It's a shame you couldn't get more levels, but I hope you keep working on it after the jam is over, this has a ton of potential.
Thanks for the kind words MDSalomon!
Hey!
Due to some poor planning on my end, we were only able to get one level in the game. We were also not able to test the game much, so the game is quite a bit unpolished. We are still happy to have participated in the jam, feel free to leave any feedback! :)
love the graphics of this one, nice hand drawn style. i don't think it fits the theme too well, and wasn't too sure how to join the dots at first
Thanks for the feedback Rachy!
Cute game, I'm not sure how the theme comes in play however?
The idea was that the dots are "joined together" when lines are drawn between them at the end of the level. I do agree with you that theme is not clear in retrospect. Thanks for the comment GryphShot! :)
Oooh, got'cha. That makes more sense.
