Fun Arcade-like game, I felt compelled to try again to get one story higher! I would've enjoyed if kicking was integral to gaining points however, as I was able to just line up the rubbish falling down by placing the top of my ladder above it. I think this could be fixed by making the second half of the ladder the one that collides with rubbish, instead of both halves. Overall, a great effort for a 48 hour jam!
PS, I'd be really grateful if you could rate my game in return: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2021/rate/1081130
Funny game! The mechanic you chose to change the floor makes me want to continue playing! Congratulations!
Cool music, cute art and fun gameplay :)
I really liked the arcady style of gameplay where your objective is to get as high of a score as possible and the concept of using the ladder to defend yourself and also climb up is really fun. Overall the game is very fun and addictive!
Confusing o u o
It's a pretty fun game, though a bit confusing at first. If there's one thing to point out, is that the milestones for the ladder seem kinda arbitrary: if you made them say all multiples of 100, it would be much easier to track progress.
One of the most fun games I've played in the jam. It wasn't immediately intuitive but once I got a good rhythm going I didn't want to stop. I appreciate the physics work on the ladder, but it could very well be a canned animation and would probably be more reliable. Great job!
Fun little game well done, my highest score :) :
You can get hit while climbing the ladder, which you can't do anything about. You can "climbed" up into the space between two platforms, which would get you stuck in a tiny space and kill you eventually. Other than the bugs, it's a small game fun for a couple minutes.
