Nice idea - rating for rating?

Having the solutions on hand is a good idea for a jam game, I got stuck on the first level, but after some hints on that one, managed the rest. Pretty fun! Especially in the later levels where different abilities start coming in. You could get some really interesting interactions going there. Definitely an idea with potential. Nice work!

Interesting concept and well executed!

Very well done execution of the AI imposter role the music sounded great and fit with the game and your sounds sounded very good. An idea for the game is that you have a notepad to keep track of what you've done so its easier to keep track when you mess up. Also the humor was a nice touch. Overall very well done.

Interesting game. The grammar can make the game a bit confusing and hard to understand, especially with the rules and the special card texts. Clear rules and effects are hard to write even for fluent English speakers and experienced game designers, so I can't fault you too much. Good job!

Interesting idea and fun to play (up until level 4, which spiked the complexity). It definitely has potential, and I would have to see/simulate other interactions than just attack -> lose health.

Funny idea! We also briefly considered doing a “you are the computer” entry, but ended up going a different direction. Still, nice to see other people attempted it.

Presentation and UX are pretty good, and the storyline made me chuckle. The fight system itself was pretty close to some games I’ve played, so I felt comfortable with the rules, which was nice. Still, I think the gameplay itself could use a little work. I think the game gets a little repetitive pretty quickly as the only interaction so far was reducing hearts by a given amount.

I think the following features might help:

  • have “checkpoints” after a player’s turn instead of playing out the entire fight.
  • introduce more interactions earlier, something like “gain 1 attack when a friend attacks” or something like that.

With some tweaks, I could see this turning into a fun game, though!

I was definitely a bit confused at first but having the solutions there helped, maybe a first level that shows you a solution so you understand the win condition better? I actually really liked the art style.

(1 edit)

audio is kewl.  Def describes dev-life and the bossman.

Nice take on a visual novell, and I love visual aesthetics of the game. :) And I like the touch, that the solutions are given, if the Fake AI gets stuck.
