My player froze so I couldn't progress, but I feel like this game has some potential in it. It just needs more time for bug fixes and playtesting and I think it can turn out really good.

Developer(+1)

Ohh I'm so sorry to hear about it. Yes, i found that stuck bug after building and couldn't fix it in time.
I'm working on an improved version and will upload as soon as it's ready.

Thank you for playing :)

The graphics didn't work, i couldn't really play

Developer

Ohh, sorry to hear that. What browser (and version) did you used? Did you tried the windows build? Just for gaining some knowledge about the issues, cause the jam is already over.

Hey this is a pretty cool idea and I think the economy of this game works really well, a bit too well almost. I could certainly see this go places, like what if the citizens notice the source of the zombies at some point and start attacking the graveyard, and you have to keep some zombies stationed lest your graveyard gets destroyed?

I think the day/night thing was sometimes a bit ambiguous and I didn't feel the separation between the two phases during gameplay as I kind of just did the same stuff throughout, with day / night merely being a visual effect of sorts. At some point, I managed to get stuck and my char couldn't move anymore. Still, I did enjoy my time with this and I think it has nice presentation. Awesome thumbnail art, by the way.

Dude, you read my mind. I was exactly thinking on a defense system for the graveyard for a non-near-future update.

The day/night was intended to split the game in two different sections, which I couldn't implement as fast as the visuals, and had to leave it for the update (which is still without the day/night feature lol). The original idea was to let the player only bury bodies during day, and only summon zombies during night. But when I say the overwhelming quantity of dead bodies each "morning", I decided to let it be for the jam, as it was kind of fun looking the corpses get pilled.

The player getting stuck was found after the build was uploaded and couldn't fix it in time. Luckily I've been working on several improvements on this last week, trying to keep the original idea but improving several things, like the buy lot system and the zombie management.

Thank you so much for playing!

Ah one idea I had was to add some automation, kinda efficiency stuff to deal with piles of corpses. Like maybe you could employ some of the zombies to be grave digging minions

Developer(+1)

Great idea! I've though of hiring someone, but the digging zombie minion is definitely a must!

Additionally, how about adding grave upgrades such as mausoleums that can store more corpses? That way you could reduce travel time and add more visual variety

Developer(+1)

Yes, that was part of the original plan. I've been working on the buy/upgrade system, but also has to update the way you harvest the zombies. The better the grave is, the stronger the zombie (like a super zombie, skeletons, berserker, etc).

Not sure if I'll have the time to do so. I'm already working on two commercial games, so this is kind of a side project. The ideas of course keep coming to my mind and yours are welcome too.

I liked the overall gameplay loop, I'd love to see if this idea ever gets fleshed out more beyond a jam setting, good work!

Developer(+1)

I'm exactly working on it right now LOL

Thank you for playing!

Wow, the game about a necromancer digging people corspes! I love it, digging corpses is not as fun as killing people (my subjective opinion), but the fact you make zombies kill people makes it quite fun! I love the game:D

Developer

LOL. That's the magic of the jams! Same concept can be used in very twisted ways haha.

Thank you for playing!

Nice work! love the day and night cycles reversing the role you play. The waiting time was a bit long but strong core loop. Good stuff!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, I run out of time to add a "skip night" button, but definitely will add it to the update!

Interesting game, nice concept :)

Thank you!

So engaging, the atmosphere cought me and i wanted to get these towns empty. Sadly i Sean got stuck when to many bodys poped up at once. Would love to see this more explored. Really impresive how much you created!

Developer

Yes, I want to invade all towns every time I was testing too!
Too bad the bodies got stucked. I ran out of time to improve that part of the game.

Thank you for playing!

Loved the sound design. My graphics didn't load correctly, but I like the feel you created.

Developer

Thanks. I love the music and sounds too (not mine, I need to write that on the credits).
Too bad graphs didn't load. Can you send me a screenshot or tell me how they look, so I can fix this and future WebGL games?

Very cute game, it needs more stakes.

Developer

Thanks!
