This music is a VIBE! :catjam: The pixel art is nice and simple, and the idea is unique. Everything I generally look for in a game. You even managed to add an in game tutorial in a jam game! 👏
(BTW could you publish the music on Spotify? This stuff could supercharge my work!)
I'm glad you enjoyed it and had fun. I also really like the music, but unfortunately, it's not created by me. As mentioned in the credits, it was made by Qumu (a YouTuber normally known for Nintendo remixes). Here are the links to the two tracks:
- "I Am," which I used for my intro and main menu.
- "Among Familiar Faces," which plays during the Uno game. Both tracks should be available on Spotify, to the best of my knowledge. I hope you have a great time listening to them.
Oh, ok. Thanks for the links, anyways. I've already been listening to Qumu music on Spotify, don't know how I didn't come across these earlier.
Awesome game, just now realizing how bad I am at Uno!
I was surprised because I expected this to be a breeze, turns out the later levels are indeed challenging enough because even when you have control of what to give out from the stack, nothing beats a good starting hand in early phase, I'm impressed, well thought out and fun!
Thanks ^^
This is a concept our team considered but didn't really know how to do, very cool implementation of the idea! I do feel the animations and such take a bit long even on x4 speed so I quickly felt I was becoming inpatient. But it's a charming little puzzler.
Nice idea, i feel it it was a little bit too long when the red player was drawing 8 cards in a row xD but overall , nice play.
I really love this concept! honestly playing uno it did always feel like the cards favored someone over another and now its true! the music was nice and chill and the gameplay was simple but really fun
Yeah, now you'll discover the truth about how the cards are dealt in a real game of Uno xD
I'm glad you had fun with it :)
Nice idea, well done :D
Thank you :)
Great concept and execution! I enjoyed the music, too! Good job!
Thanks :D
Very polished and enjoyable. This game proves that simple ideas are often the best ones
Thank you for your kind praise. Yes, initially, I wanted to make the game much more complex with additional rules and player-controlled elements to provide a more intricate gameplay experience. However, I realized that (A) time constraints prevented me from doing so, and (B) keeping it simpler actually makes it easier to understand and enjoyable.
really like this game, truly captures how it feels to play uno (i'm red)
In all seriousness, good concept and good execution! Well done
Thanks :D
Cool game
there was a level where i lost without any of the players having drawn any cards, was pretty funny
very enjoyable game
Yes, that is something that could happen. Thanks for your comment.
Woah! very awesome idea and execution! Only thing is I wish the fonts were consistent. Keep it up!
Mostly they are, but you are right - it's not always the case. Thanks for your feedback.
This is the most creative game i have seen in this jam. I hope you will bi in the top 100 ;)
I'm curious about my creativity score, but yeah. However, I don't think I'll come anywhere near the top 100. There are plenty of other games that have been very well developed. But thanks for your comment :)
Surprisingly easy to lose track of time in this one. I could see myself playing this for a long time without it getting too old. Very nice game!
That is one of the best compliments a game developer can receive. Thank you very much :)
i loved playing this, it is a simple concept that is VERY addictive
If you want, I can add a hint about addiction counseling in the game xD
Love the game, music, and art.
The level design for this game must be very interesting!
The level design is slightly easier than anticipated: Essentially, the probabilities for certain events (e.g., red drawing a +4) are changed from level to level. The rest you see is basically randomly drawn cards with their respective probabilities.
Initially, I planned to fully script the levels with particularly interesting scenarios, but there simply isn't enough time for that.
The main concept is outstanding! Probably the most original idea I've seen so far!
Also the art and music are pretty cool.
Thank you very much for the great praise. I'm glad it's being received so well.
It's a good idea masterfully executed. I got to level 4.
You can play the game for a longer period of time because the music is really pleasant and calming.
I would say the game is slow but you added 4x speed so I don't have anything bad to say here.
Thank you for your praise. Yes, the game is relatively relaxed. I will adjust the difficulty level again after the jam, so that from around Level 5, players will encounter truly challenging levels. And if possible, I'll also add a Zen mode where the difficulty never increases and players can play as long as they want at a consistent level. The speed was given as feedback by a tester just one hour before the jam deadline, and luckily I was able to add it as a feature (without any bugs)
Really nice take on the theme, the concept works really well.
Yes, brainstorming for ideas was initially challenging, and I thought that a Reverse Uno would probably turn out to be one of the more boring projects (simply because it's a simple card game). However, the way it turned out in the end is really enjoyable and works well.
