That is an amazing idea and a great puzzle!

Nice job! It took me some deaths to understand how it should be played, but right after learning it, it was quite fun!

One thing that bugs me is how the camera locks and maybe sometimes you can lose the sight of a monster that was in the same room, so it screws up the puzzle. But that is fine.

Congrats :D

Developer

Seems like there is some bug with the camera based on this and other reviews. You are supposed to be able to see the entire room you're in and the 8 adjacent rooms. Thanks for taking the time to play through.

Interesting idea with you basically trying to MacGyver together movement with the limited rules/options you have. I did find the controls a little difficult to work with to get the idea I had in motion. I also had to read a response here to figure out what to do in the second room.

I still like the idea a bunch so well done.

Developer

Glad you liked the idea. Definitely player guidance was one of the areas we need to improve on. What issues did you have with the controls? Just not responding in the way you were expecting, characters too slow, switching characters too hard, or something else? Thanks for playing!

I think it was just little things. Overall the game involved a level of micromanaging I was not expecting. Like I remember I could have multiple enemies selected at once and that confused me for a few moments. Plus you had to be thinking several moves ahead but (and I might have missed this) I could not figure out how to look around to try and find what I needed to go to next.

Developer

Controlling multiple enemies was definitely a bug. I did not know that was possible. There are no camera controls, but you should be able to see the room you're in and every adjacent room. We did struggle with the camera some, so that might not have worked out as expected.

What did the second button do?

Developer

It opens a door to in the room south of the main room. To access, kill the 4 chickens in the other room off that hub.

Cool Idea, but took quite some time for me to get it. Also i couldn't get past the "second" puzzle, it wasn't really possible to get to the room with the huge amount of chickens. Also checkpoints would've been nice, since redoing everything is way too frustrating. But Overall I had quite some fun with this game, good job!

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, we definitely could have done a better job of teaching the mechanics. For the the room before the one with all of the chickens, you can use a chicken from below to scare the hero up into that room. you'll need to use the bat to draw him on the top with the chicken in the middle hallway. Thanks for playing, I'm glad you had fun

Cool idea, but I cannot get through open doors with the animals.

Developer(+1)

That's intended, but not well described (or mentioned at all). Everything should be possible with the animals in their current rooms.

LOVE the music and art, both are super cute, and the idea is very fun and creative as well. Buuuut I struggled to get past the first room... I wish there had been a little more guidance!

Developer

Yeah, the UI in general was one of the things that got added really late and we didn't do as well as we should have. Glad you liked the art though!
