i blundered into figuring out what the 'thing' was purely by accident which made me nearly laugh out loud, but the aggressive player was just too frustrating to beat

Loved the aesthetic, loved the idea of the leveling system being a constellation, loved the evolving protag, loved the double challenge of strategically choosing skills + actually improving at gameplay to beat the evolving protag.
I think given the time constraints of a two day game jam, this is wonderful. Any critiques I have require more time to resolve than the time limit easily allows for
Very interesting concept. Never thought that my first second-person view gameplay will be from this jam!
Never think about it before, but the crisp art style with bloom looks pretty nice. Got a dreamy feeling to it. The "player" is especially well made. Did you use any animation software alongside Unity? I've seen some ppl use Spine for a similar animation style.
As for suggestions, it would be cool if there are situations that fit a different type of attack skills. Though, I understand that implementing that would be troublesome for a 2 days jam.
Still, the character art is very unique! Would be cool if you include it in the thumbnail art (but maybe it's just my preferences)
For animation, I only use the 2D animation package in Unity.
Thank you for your suggestions. I might have more time in the next Brackeys Game Jam It's a 7 days jam I might be able to make more content next time.
And for this game, I might update content in post-jam a little bit or more if it is getting more player
First level : i win by spamming J
Second level : i win by spamming K
Third level : i died really fast
10/10
(the skill tree is a really nice touch)
I think this idea is pretty well conveyed. I like the detail of the camera following the "player".
A well executed idea also the player names are funny.
How did you code the AI for the player so he dodges, attacks etc?
I liked this! The upgrade tree was a nice surprise and so were the different player types. I couldn't get past the speedrunner, but it was fun having to adapt my playstyle to the different heroes nevertheless.
A couple of minor suggestions would be to maybe add a parrying system to avoid damage and unincentivize just running away, and possibly having the types of heroes adapt to the upgrades you chose to allow for a more varied experience. Overall, great job!
