I can tell a lot of thought went into the systems for this game! The methods you use to draw Tony in seem eerily accurate to the logic behind real slot games (i.e. the near wins). It was a bit hard for me to grasp the strategy at first, though. It might be fun if you had different players with different attitudes/spending limits!
There were going to be other players. Tight Tony, High Roller Rick, Mid Mel ect. But it took so long just to balance Tony, that Tony's face doesn't even appear in the game.
Nice idea! Love the simple presentation! A suggestion: Maybe if Tony is on a winning streak, he's compelled to bet more the next time, so that it could be balanced on the player's side too, but I guess even this could be exploited. Regardless, this game has incredible replay value!
You can't increase your bet on a fruit machine. Not the ones I've played at any rate. Maybe you can in Vegas, but definitely not one in a greasy cornor of a UK pub.
Cool game idea pretending to be an evil slot machine. It is hard to make him lose money though as you need to play the long game.
Very funny game ! I enjoyed trying to reproduce a real machine's behaviour ! Very well made !
Dang you Tony! You and your responsible money management! I will get your bus fare one day!
I love this its very unique but I found myself lost at times about reducing suspicion.
Suspicion has two elements. The "sus" value itself and a multiplier. Both go down over time and with larger wins. But if you spam sussy actions, that multiplier shoots up quickly and takes a lot to make it go down. If you want to kill sus and give a boatload of fun, give Tony a jackpot... but that leaves you at the mercy of the "cashout" mechanic.
it's very thought out good job !!
Ironically enough i got addicted myself, playing those slots, trying to take all the money from Tony. Gotta say, it was pretty tough, got close once, but ran out of "Fun" meter. After several attempts i've realized that i'm becoming Tony, heh.
Pretty nice concept and the mechanics keep you engaged, even though some could say it's partly because of the gambling mechanic. But i think it's not that simple, since the resource here is not the money, but attention, so you gotta be more strategic than just rely on random chances.
Good job!
Thanks! I was going to add more mechanics like holds and nudges, but balancing just three tumblers took WAY too long.
We had a similar idea at the beginning of the jam! Nic to see someone has done a great mini-game with that idea ! Congrats:)
What a fun idea! I kept trying out different combinations to see what would get me the best possible results!
I love torturing Tony =D
I get to make this poor sap named Tony lose the only money to his name (that being $20). 10/10, would spin again
This was a pretty cool idea! It might be interesting to have him spending hundreds of thousands of dollars and lose his family and house and stuff like that. Great work!
Nah. I like the idea that it's really petty and low stakes. Gambling is everywhere in the UK, but it's a lot harder to lose everything. I mean you can, but it takes effort. You're not going to lose your house on a pub fruit machine.
A really interesting idea, was fun to take all of Tony's live savings.
Fun idea! Great job interpreting the theme, totally feel that role reversal. Good work!
Funny idea and fun to play
GREAT core idea. Would love to see where this goes. Had a lot of fun trying to jilt ol' Tony.
