A top notch entry in this game jam! I was impressed with how the puzzles were designed at just the right amount of difficulty. The narrative was also emotional and served as a nice refresher between puzzles. The voice acting was a surprise and was wonderful from beginning to end! I felt in certain situations that the audio was a bit too loud to my liking, perhaps having a volume slider would give the players more control over the audio. Overall, an impressive title! Nice work :)
This game's art style is very striking! I think there's an interesting story to be told here but there isn't much to it besides the intro. There is some interesting puzzle design too, but the slow movement makes it somewhat tedious imo. Overall, I love the art direction in this game - it is very stellar!
A really heartfelt narrative. I really liked the various gameplay mechanics on display here. I also like your choice of music used, except for one place where it did not feel right (the one where you're chasing Tony(?) through town). I also really enjoyed the retro feel that the graphics and level design evoked. Also, the final dungeon was very well-designed imo - there were instances where I had lost my way, and that's a good thing since that is how caverens really are; they're labyrinths. That said, there were instances when the colliders on objects were way too big and it looked like I was colliding with air rather. Also, the movement animation is slightly jarring and does not gel well with the character's movement speed. All in all, I really enjoyed the emotional narrative presented here. Great work!
I really liked the challenge of the puzzles. I wish there was a tutorial to ease me into how the seals and penguins interact with each other, but it was fun to figure that out on my own too ngl. Really engaging puzzle design too! It's amazing how you managed to make this into a puzzle game with the mechanics at hand. Great work!
I like how you managed to make pressure-sensitive jumps into a viable mechanic. Usually, games that have pressure-sensitive jumps, don't do much with it, if any, so your take on this mechanic felt fresh. The third level was fairly difficult but I wished there were more levels because I was having fun.
Immaculate sound design! You did really well with the sounds to make it an atmospheric experience. I really enjoyed the story too - an emotional ending, but this is a story where the journey is more important than the ending. However, I did feel like the combat was pointless and didn't add much to the experience as enemies were also very weak. Overall, great game and incredible work on the sounds!
Love how the theme was incorporated into typing commands into a UNIX terminal. I thought the atmosphere was also spot-on. I wish the glitch effect could have been reduced as it obscured the text on the screen when viewing from some camera angles, but regardless, this is truly an underrated entry in this game jam! Incredible job!
