The Lich King is a super cutie. I had a fun time with it; controlling minions to mob the hero is the way to go. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing glad you enjoyed it!

I am the most unfair boss fight ever. Most games with summons have you dodging attacks, but I really liked the dynamic of instead baiting "heroes" into my minions instead.

Developer

Haha yeah, my initial plan was to have more types of minions so that baiting would have more strategic depth. Glad you liked it!

Really good game idea I liked it! I think the presentation was really good, and its excellent you were able to get such a solid game down. Personally with the concept you presented I think it would've been cool if it were turn based rather than a point-and-click spamathon haha. It would've offered more strategy as well, pokemon style haha! Nevertheless a good game :D

Glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback -- I can see the game being a turn based too, with several minions with specialties against types of heroes!

Fun concept! The ability to switch to other units instantly is a bit game breaking though, it makes it too easy and removes strategy as you can just spam whenever the cooldowns end. This could be expanded upon by maybe letting players select certain monsters or spells, having certain things be more or less effective against different heroes, etc.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Great suggestions, it would definitely help balance the game better.

this was fun! it was definitely a bit easy but it was still enjoyable to play. I think it could definitely be a lot better if you take the time to update it after the jam, but for what you were able to do in the time limit you did a pretty good job

Developer

Glad you liked it, thanks for the feedback!

idea like that was on your mind for some time, great work, it needs balance and polish but was fun to play

A bit on the easier side, but still had a fun time!

I think the tricky part for the minion spawner types of games is finding some way to avoid turning into just an autoclicker (I was mostly just spamming bats with one or two golems and that was enough to win).. One possible idea that comes to mind is having a set number of "minion slots", with larger minions taking more spots. That way you can't just spam, and need to strike a proper balance between your minions.

Overall great work!

Developer

Glad you liked it!

That's a nice suggestion! I was going to approach it by having more minions with unique skills (like freezing or exploding) and heroes that have hard counters for specific minions so you would need to strategize a bit, but due to time constraints the heroes end up being very similar.

I see we had similar ideas! Couple of bugs that would make a huge difference to fix, like units not following after a hero dies, but I enjoyed it. Well Done :)

Developer

Yeah it is fascinating to see the different executions of this idea! Thanks for the feedback!

I loved the mechanics of the game, how you combat your opponents and what-not. I had a lot of fun playing this and the various stages. It was a little easy, but I think that's fine in a game like this, should a game like this be too hard it'd just be unfun. With that being said, I think the overall theme for a jam like this was kinda lost with this project, despite being fun I don't think it's exactly a concept flipped on its head.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I think that the interpretation of the roles of boss against heroes is definitely more of a conceptual one than a gameplay one for sure. I tried to steer from this by making it an almost "opposite Vampire Survivors" where you span minions but yeah I can see where you are coming from!

Other than being a bit too easy it was a very cool game! looks and plays nice, i loved that the low health minions come back for heals, i think the best would be to have more high cooldown minions and/or have each minion be a bit more special in some kind of way. But as it stands it already plays very nicely! would be super hard to make those kinds of interactions in the span of the game jam, but if that's something you would develop further i think it's a nice think to look for. Anyway, amazing job here, congrats!

Thanks for the feedback! I would love to put more content in the game (heroes, minions and skills) if possible, but game jams eh? I went with an easy setup but I was playing around with game modes and it can get hard pretty fast if you put more than one hero at a time 😅
