ah, making a mess of cable the game!

definitely can make you crazy. Love the style and how polished that entry is!

Really good looking game.

This game is absolutely fantastic!  Full of charm and polish, and as an IT admin myself I really relate to these struggles.  It has great feedback, I really appreciated that when a virus hit you could hear it and easily see which server it was on.

You had fantastic tutorials too with tons of personality.  The only part I struggled with was getting started initially, figuring out how to get a cable.  I didn't realize you just interacted with one end and pulled.  For another jam last year my team made a similar game about cable management, and to get around this problem what I did was create a world space UI element that walked the player through their first cable.  It hovered over where you have to click to get a cable, then when you picked it up over where to plug it in to try and eliminate some mystery to that.  After your first one it disappeared.  I think something like that would be a good addition if you make some improvements here, butI totally get the time crunch and am very glad the effort went into everything that it did.  Full marks from me!

Thank you for playing our game Matt! Sorry for the server room flashbacks haha.

I appreciate the feedback, it's always helpful to know what does and doesn't work. That's a great idea with the cable connection being clearer.

I really like it! I think this is something I'd like to play outside of the jam!

Great concept and well polished! Style and theme work extremely well, only thing I would say is possibly adding a different mechanic to break up from the cable mechanic a bit? Other than that, well executed project.

cool cable connecting game!

moving back and forth and needing to connect tons of cables one by one gradually made me feel a little sick.

Loved the graphics though!

The presentation with the AI bot dialog, fake advertisements, and even the Settings.cfg joke were really great! Brought legit smiles to my face while playing.

Some minor UX thoughts: After connecting all the wires in the beginning, I had forgotten what my target User goal was, so I think it would have been nice to have some way to see what your active objective is for each stage.

Since the whole game revolved around moving from server to server, I think I would have liked the default moving speed to be a bit faster. I realized there was a run button (which was not listed in the in-game controls section), but there was no reason not to use it, and honestly, the FOV change from running to not running was getting a little motion-sicky for me.

I stopped playing once I had to keep the servers cool as these passive-increment types of games are not my personal cup of tea. That said, this one is is really polished with an excellent tone, graphics, and music. The absurdity of having so many wires is really entertaining. Great work!

Extra bonus points for providing a GitHub repo! Really cool to see how the game was put together :)

I know that isn't how server rooms are set up... But I think it's a fascinating experience!!

Really fun concept! The style really nails the corporate internet art vibe.
