Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! There wasn't much sleep in those two days but it was worth it haha

Thank you so much for checking out our game! I'm glad the storybook vibe came through, that was our goal.

I agree with you on the gameplay 100%, we definitely ran out of time to add any other gameplay mechanics, but it's useful to hear someone else thought it needed more too. Thank you!

My guess is when I press space it's triggering something like DropObject(); instead of InteractWithBird(); -- if it's a race condition between them your computer might just be hitting InteractWithBird(); faster than the rest of us, and we're all hitting DropObject(); . If it's a race condition it can seem kind of random like that.

Usually when I have something hard to reproduce like this I go back to the related code and talk out loud and read one line at a time to make sure the logic makes sense. They're some of the most annoying bugs to fix lol

I really like the art on this one a lot, the style is cool and I really liked the main menu change with the music, very cool. Unfortunately I also had the bug where I could not turn in my quest to the bird so I couldn't progress with the game. From my guesses on how things were going though it looked like it would have been a cool story game.

I streamed here:

A simple game but challenging. Shows you don't need a lot to make something fun. Having never played the original game it still manages to feel reversed like the triangle would have normally been the player. Great job!

I played on stream here:

This is a lot of game to have been made in 48 hrs, I like that you got such a cool system of customer vs shop upgrades to be balanced. There were a lot of moving pieces but it was presented really well and fun to play, thanks for the game!

I streamed the game here:

A nice take on the theme with a good amount of levels to try to solve. I like the core mechanic of taking a picture although it felt a little awkward for me to do and to gather the pieces but I'm not the biggest on puzzle games. Thanks for the game!

I played the game here:

A fun minigame arcade where I get to be the bad guy and take money from children, hard to beat that. Cool story idea and a great take on the gamejam theme!

I played your game here:

This is such a fun and beautiful game. It gives me the vibes of a studio ghibli movie with the art style and the premise. A really good take on the role reversal theme for the jam. Amazing that you could coordinate a team to make a game this polished in this short of a time frame. I had to get myself disowned because I knew there would be something funny that would happen lol. I had a lot of laughs from playing and it left me with a smile on my face, thanks for the cool game!

I streamed the game here:

I like the idea of reverse frogger and I think that fits the theme really well! The challenge was nicely balanced between having to control the player up top and his shooting but also having to stay on top of resources on the right. It was fun and really makes you feel that sense of panic that mutant frogs are coming at you. The frog with all the feet and heels was particularly funny but I think the art style overall is quite charming. Nice work!

I love the art style and it's impressive to have made a cool system like this in such a short amount of time. I would have liked to see some more parameters on the random generation for the room to make the progression more linear. And I think in some cases maybe the randomness becomes somewhat unfair as well even with the cards but that's all something that could be refined with time. Excellent work, I truly had fun playing!

I streamed gameplay here:

The art and music is really lovely! But I was also a bit confused on what to do and the end screen was just a quit button so I wasn't sure if the game was even broken. I would have like to see some more directions (even if it's not text) to make it clear that the game is over or what to do next.

I played the game on stream here:

Of all the games I played this jam (I streamed playing games for about 6 hrs!) this is my favorite. The gameplay mechanic was so creative and fun and hit the nail on the head for the theme perfectly. To have created all this art, sfx, and music and have it come together so well in such a short amount of time is an amazing accomplishment. Gameplay balance was really well done and something super challenging for such a short jam. More than any of that I truly had fun, so thanks for making a game where I could have a good time even at the end of 4hrs of streaming. :D

I really love the art style and the vibe of the whole game. Stellar job on presentation. I would have liked the gameplay to be a little more varied or challenging but it was a very cool idea and well executed with the mirrors. The best and most literal take on the theme lol.

I love the art style, it's funny to see the french fries pop up among all the pixels especially. But it's also very effective for getting the point across with the different types of enemies. The main thing I would have like to see a bit different was for the movement controls to be a bit tighter. I didn't feel in control of my character and the jump distance was really far. Great job for the jam!

One of the most fun games with the most unique ideas for the theme I've played this jam. It's a very simple mechanic to pick up but it's still really challenging, I couldn't quite beat the clock in my playthrough. I like the art and music a lot for the theme of your game. Great work!

Really good start to a game! I think if you had more time it could have definitely led to something promising. It's impressive that you made so much art in such a short period of time!

Really fun gameplay and didn't run into too many bugs! The Guide button in the main menu didn't seem to do anything and the craft button sometimes didn't seem to work unless I clicked it several times. Craft with nothing in the bar acted as a skip turn even though the puzzle pieces don't fit together.

Other than that it's truly fun. It reminds me of scratch programming but more in a gaming focused way. Thanks for the game!

The gameplay was very cool and unlike any of the other games I've seen in the jam, a very good take on the jam theme. Super impressive to have so many levels. As you saw in my video review some of the spinning levels did make me feel a bit of motion sickness but it was still a very fun gameplay idea! Thanks for the game!

Thank you so much for playing our game! I'm glad you had fun and thanks for taking the time to tell us what you liked. :D

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'm glad you liked the look of the game :D
And yeah we realized pretty late in development that WebGL does something funny to the controls and didn't have time to completely fix it 😭Sorry about that!

Thanks for playing! We were very fortunate to have a good artist on board this time :D

Thank you for playing and for the feedback, I'm glad you understand  the true nature of sparrow. 😎
Yeah, WebGL does something funny to the controls when we finally built it and we didn't have time to fix it completely 😭 Sorry for the weird controls!

I'm glad you had fun! :D

Thank you so much for playing our game and letting us know what you think! I super agree, I think guidance was what we lacked the most. I'm glad you liked the audio and environment. :)

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing our game!

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback while recording and for pushing through even though some of our design choices made it really unclear on what to do next. Sorry about the frustration, we'll do better next time! I took a LOT of notes on what to improve for the future and this was truly so incredibly helpful. Thanks for playing our game!

This is a super cute game, I really like it! The gameplay is actually pretty well balanced most of the time and fun. Night time was unexpectedly spooky and funny LOL

I recorded my gameplay, I had a blast.

Wanted to let you know of some minor bugs:
1. The itch.io fullscreen button doesn't seem to work for me, if I click it most of the screen is actually just black and it doesn't make the game bigger.

2. If I use the ingame fullscreen option and tick it off and back on that works, but pressing Escape takes it back out of fullscreen. This is unfortunate because pressing escape to close the in game Menu where instructions are is very useful and easier to press than C.

Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks for checking it out even though it is unfinished!

If you swing a gun hard enough it will count as a sword, right? Haha, thank you for checking it out!

Thanks so much for checking it out! I'm glad you liked those things. :D
