I really like that the bird isn't just made of circles that grow, but that it's actually a ton of unique sprites for each size. I especially love that the bird gets grumpier and grumpier

Developer

haha thanks!

to be true it really is 2 circles with fixed sprites that have positions relative to the size of their circle - think of it as an Mr Potato Head except the potato is a balloon. I did spend some (too much) time to make it look proper

I think it can be expanded upon with more levels.  Yes, I do want more of this game!!
Played for the livestream today!!

Developer(+1)

thanks a lot for the nice words, sorry I just noticed forgot to show the water in the spikes haaaa

I’ll work more on it, got inspired by the comment here and there haha

thanks again!!

I think your description is underselling the game. This ended up being pretty fun for the time it lasted, and the art direction is simple but strong.

I also like the chubby water-filled bird.

Developer

thanks a lot, I’m so glad to read your kind words :D

I love the animations and art for this!! The concept is so fun and I can see where this would go as a fully-fledged puzzle game if you choose to :) It's short but for a game made in under 48 hours it's very well made :))

Developer(+1)

thanks a lot for the nice words :D

more people had fun than expected with this silly thing so it’s definitely encouraging me to develop this entry into a more consistent game haha

Neat little game! landing in the correct position was a bit tricky, but i managed to beat it under 2 minutes.

Developer

thanks :D glad you had a bit of fun hehe

oh did you land to extinguish the fire? I haven’t thought of that 🤔 the fire was supposed to repel the bird but I couldn’t implement that - that would be interesting to implement somehow (maybe with some kind of another bird that is flame-resistant)

The bloated bird looks amazing and funny! Good job!

Developer

haha thanks a lot :D

Nice idea, and execution is fine. I got my  owl up in the air once to never come back?!

Developer

Thanks :D

I guess their people needed them and went away XDDD

There is an invisible upward windy area I forgot to remove when I submitted the game, which pushes the bird upward and possibly outside the screen unless you press down, that might be why T_T (so many things I wished I’d done properly)

Submitted(+1)

Haha... this is so recognizable! Thanks for your entry, it's very unique.

Art is nice, but lacks intuition. Nice overall.

Developer

yeah it’s missing to many things, I need to get more efficient for the next jam haha thanks a lot!

That's a nice little game! I like the goofiness

Developer(+1)

thanks a lot haha

Fun game!)

Developer

This is so cute, nice work! Love the sprites for the bird.

Developer

thanks a lot! :D

hah ha, this is an exciting project with potential, rate us too.

Developer

thanks!

I will do that whenever I can :D

Cute, Nice, Simple, and solid. This is what a game jams meant to be about this game has lots of potential accomponied with great mechanics and art design

Developer

Thanks a lot :D

Submitted(+1)

That was adorable! It took me a while to realize that they could just fill with water endlessly (or at least for a very long time). I think this mechanic has a lot of potential. The bird's art is well-designed; it complements the mechanic perfectly.

Fantastic! Great work!

Developer(+1)

yeah I spent 90% of my allotted time on that bird XD

a real shame I couldn’t have the time to exploit its shape/size more (I wanted to make it slower when it gets bigger, to have more clever winds area with some kind of puzzle-ish things, being able to rescue tiny people too, and the more when you’re bigger, and so on!

thanks a lot for the review!!

Fun game! The art looks really nice and the sound effects are very fitting.

Developer

thanks :D tho there are no audio except the TIC-80 chirping (I wish I had the time to add a nice music and some sfx)

Submitted(+1)

Forgive my overworked brain, I could've sworn there was music lol, though the TIC-80 chirping is nice too (:

Developer(+1)

haha with so many games to review that was bound to happen!

Nice game! I like the visuals however the pixel art of the fire looks strange when it scales compared to everything else, but its difficult to do everything in 48 hours :) The concept was very creative and I understood how to play very quickly. Well done on making it in half the time!

Developer

oh yeah it was already so late when I finished to implement the core game -extinguishing fires- I couldn’t give enough love to these flames and I just had the time set the scale (which is integer unfortunately) (no pun related to the scale theme) instead of doing something more fancy haha

Thanks for the nice words and the review!!

I’m not used to doing these short jams. These are excellent for exercising, also, I’m honestly impressed how far people can get with 48 or 96 hours

(I’ll try to review your own entry ASAP :D)
