This is what I wanted to to with my game but you actually did it better. You probably didn't have to fight a drunk cameraman either. But I do think you did a good job, would of gotten further but I have a long list of game to play still.
Featured on today's livestream!!
Thanks for playing the game on stream! It was really helpful seeing you play and realizing I had fallen into the age old trap of "I can play it so everyone can". I've taken some time and updated the game to make it easier. Some of the stuff I've fixed includes:
If you give the game another chance, let me know!
PS: I still haven't figured out how to fix the snow bug when climbing :(
WOW nice game 5/5
i messed up my game :(
Thanks! Finally got a chance to update it and make it what I was imagining!
I really enjoyed this game and it was cool to see someone else who interpreted the word SCALE to mean climb like me haha. The tool building mechanic was sick and i really liked the music.
My only downfall was sticky keys activating all the time haha.
Great job!
Thanks! I was curious how many people would go with a climbing game! I haven't seen as many as I thought I would.
Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out the best control scheme, left shift never felt exactly right, especially with sticky keys!
This is pretty neat although I kept struggling with the climbing mechanics since I kept thinking it was a toggle and that I had to hold on to the jump button. May recommend making the climb an optional toggle for those who struggle with the ability to hold a button down for a long time while perform other tasks? At first, I thought the crafting mechanic was going to be overwhelming but it ended up being pretty easy to manage and a nice addition.
One last thing, I wanted to jump UP off walls when I was climbing. That feels better ;) I want to change jumps and climbs to do cool climbing speeds strats :D
Thanks for the feedback!
Great suggestion! I'll get a toggle mode added in for the post-jam version!
I'll see what I can do with the jump up off the walls idea :D
Very nice gameplay mechanic and aesthetic. I really love the polishing details during the beginning. Has a calming sense with good platforming challenge and feels polished for a jam game. Good job for this game!
Thanks! I'm super happy with how it turned out (apart from some of the difficulty issues)
Good music choice and polished gameplay!
Thanks! I was going back and forth on the music, but I think it ended up fitting really well!
Nice polishing on the menu & settings! And the sound when you click on the buttons. It's nice to see the attention to detail. Very calming music makes your overall game feel atmospheric. It's interesting to see a crafting mechanic combined with a platformer, plus it's pretty in depth! I'd be interested in seeing more of that kind of mechanic in platformers & metroidvanias!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I wasn't sure how well crafting and a platformer would work together but I think it ended up working really well!
Super fun as a speedrun game! Routing is fun, because sometimes you want to weigh whether to get materials to craft something or just try and run through with wall jumping spam. Unfortunately, there's a bug that makes it all completely trivial because you can fly by holding shift and jumping anywhere! I got WR times the normal way on the first 6 levels + the first bonus level before finding that out.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for letting me know about the flying bug, I completely missed that while testing!
