It's a fun concept and very smart! I felt a little overwhelmed while trying to build and collect the scraps simultaneously. Maybe add a shield while you are building, or pauser the game?
Yeah we want to make it less overwhelming in that regard, you aren't the first to feel like that.
Thanks for the feedback!
I love how the upgrades happen during the run, which adds a fun twist. It gets more enjoyable the longer I play! This would make a perfect mobile game, and I'd definitely play it if there's ever a mobile version. My game also features a space rocket theme, please give it a try :D
Thanks for playing!
This was so fun! Probably my favorite of the jam so far, I really enjoy games with loops like this one, great work! Took me a couple of tries to get a hang of things but when it clicked I just kept going. The music is really good too. This could definitely be expanded into a larger game
Wow thanks! Made my day reading this. We hope to keep working on it!
I like games where you improve your score by upgrading, and I thought it was a cool twist for the upgrading to be done during your run instead of between runs like in Learn 2 Fly (one of my personal favorites). Very well done.
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Cool submission, I liked the pixel art and i love this genre of game, It reminds me a bit of a mobile game that i played quite a lot of called droneboi, even the sprite style is similar. Great job on the submission!
Thanks for playing!
Glad to see we had similar interpretations of theme! This was challenging, but once I got the hang of it, I was having so much fun playing it!
For some reason, I assumed you could only build out the FRONT of the rocket, so I did that for like 10 attemps. Once I realized you could build towards the back, which also zooms out the camera as you scale up, it was much more fun.
I felt like I was constanly low on tractor beam. And if I understand correctly, building the beam upgrade only increases the total capacity, not the the charge rate? It felt like it was hard to keep up with all the space junk at a certain point.
Maybe a time-stopped build mode would make it easier if you want that? Regardless, super fun to play. And super clean looking UI.
Glad you liked it, thanks for the good feedback too!
We are lacking a tutorial for sure, would make things more clear just didn't get time to do it during the jam.
The Tractor beam recharge is a fixed rate that can't be upgraded right now. I agree it needs to recharge faster as the run progresses, something we plan to add.
And yeah as for time stopping, we do like the idea of building in real time, but definitely something we will look at to find ways to make it easier to manage.
Gets better the longer you play it! So may I never stop. This would be the perfect mobile game for wasting time. So if there is ever a mobile version of it, I will be there!
Haha thanks, glad you liked it! Mobile version isn't a bad idea, we'll see what the future holds!
You had me at rockets! 468m is how far I got in a few tries! It's a good fit with the theme and solid submission; I like it!
Glad you liked it! Not a bad score either, love hearing how far people got!
Cool and simple artstyle, and overall very well executed game!
Thanks for the kind feedback!
I really like the art style and the gameplay is very engaging!
Thanks for checking it out!
Really fun gameplay loop, I enjoyed bouncing in and out of the build mode and how hectic it gets.
Is there a way to repair without adding more hull blocks? I ended up with a giant rocket that ate every piece of debris lol
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it! We were thinking about adding the ability to repair, but decided to prioritize other things. Figured forcing the player to build a massive ship to survive was pretty on theme.
