How does your game fit the theme?
You play as ants, and you *build* a tower you *scale* up, to get to the bees! Ants are pretty small in scale, as well :3

nice game. controls need a little more feel to it.
Cute little Ant game! It took me a while to figure out that each Ant had a specialty but once I got the hang of it I had fun playing around with that. I especially liked the Ladybug because it required different teams to cooperate. I sadly got stuck on 99% because one red ant got stuck in the bottom left area.
We had some problems getting the nav mesh to work correctly and we didn't catch the bottom left area as a place where they could get stuck, unfortunately. I'm glad you still enjoyed it regardless!
Played through the whole game! Never really played RTS games excecpt maybe civilization 6 once in a while, but I found this game fun and charming!
A cute little RTS game! Sadly I'm not a good RTS player. I wasted many time although there are only 3 types of ants I can command.
As an avid RTS player, I love this game. The game is very enjoyable and has a lot of potential if you develop it more in the future.
We had some plans to make the enemies more complex and even had a boss idea we cut as we thought it would be too complicated to make where the gatherer ants would pick up some sort of object that would be used to lure a boss out of safety so it could be attacked, so there's definitely some ideas we have floating around that we might add in an update in the future!
Nice and sweet! (just like the honey)
There is a long comment below which pretty much lists everything I had to say about the gameplay, so I'll just mention that the plan at the begging of the game is crazy cute and the art style in general is very charming.
The controls were a bit unintuitive (dragging flags and camera around was my initial instinct), but once you adapt they allow for a very quick and comfortable gameplay.
Great job!
Lovely game,
the art the, the music, the fact that you have specialized ants with unique roles each. I think the battle ants have kinda few to do though, maybe there should be bigger stakes fighting like maybe you should outnumber enemies or else they eat the ants and you would have to spawn more ants for each role.
Other than that, really nice game. Except as others pointed out, there are some bugs (and not ants). I got stuck at 99% stone because one ant wouldn't move off an island and that was pretty frustrating.
I'm glad you liked it! We had trouble getting the navigation of the ants to work correctly and some cracks managed to slip through sadly. We had some ideas for more complex enemies that we would have probably implemented if we had managed our time better and if the navigation didn't take so much time.
a yellow ant got stuck next to the second bridge.
one of my red ants got stuck so i sadly couldn't complete it but still really fun. loved the war vibes
That's very impressive for a jam game, as a big fan of pikmin, I really enjoyed playing this game! Big thumbs up!
its great to see another persons who made a game about ants in godot, i had to play it twice because the first time two of my worker ands got stuck while they had some building material so the percentage got stuck at 98, overall its a relaxing game and something is just good to see the little ants move around as you give them commands, GREAT GAME
I liked the game a lot, being Pikmin where the Pikmin had more specialized roles and the environment is a great concept to explore and I feel this game demonstrates its potential. Though I wish the soldiers and builders were a bit more impactful since there's a pretty limited amount of enemies and bridges to build compared to the gatherers where they're working the entire playthrough. I don't get why the builders don't build the castle though, the gatherers just drop it off there, maybe they could also build walls to block pathways that could enemies could flank the pathways of gatherer ants. I do really like the concept with the soldiers with taking out bosses and moving big bugs out of the way, I think having bees periodically spawn to harass your ants could make them more impactful in the game as you have to manage where the bees land and moving your soldiers there to prevent them from doing too much damage. I do wanna mention that the art is really charming, feels like a classic flash game from back then. Also the time limit was also very forgiving, I would've honestly wanted a stricter deadline to engage me more in optimizing my run. But I feel like I'm rambling on with ideas probably too ambitious for 4 days. I do genuinely really love what y'all brought to the table!
I'm glad you liked it! We had some ideas that we couldn't use that we might make in a future update (like a boss where the gathers have to pick something maybe up that lures the boss out so the warriors can attack it). The main reason why the builders and warriors didn't have a lot to do was that we were having lots of problems with getting the navigation of the ants to work correctly, which is why they got stuck sometimes. It took away a lot of time we could have spent fleshing out other aspects sadly. As the person who made all the art your comment about it being charming made me very happy.
Really nice!
Reminds me of Pikmin
