Nice work! I like the cat sprite and the game felt good to play. The only thing I'd really mention is that it may be nice to have the light as a toggle on click instead of always holding it down
Thank you! The light toggle would be a nice touch for it, especially when I want to put an overheat mechanic to it.
super super cool concept, i feel like you could expand this into a whole lot of variety, as is its a great jam submission! worth doing more with this I think!
Thank you! I would definitely go back to this some time after the jam.
This was fun, and I like the upscaling of the enemies, as how the shrinking in the light animation was made
Thank you very much!
I loved its so cute, really gave me Luigi's Mansion vibes, you could changr the red balls to ghosts and it will be so cool, adding more powerups would make me play the entire day lol! amazing game
Glad you enjoyed it! I actually did not think of Luigi's Mansion at all while making this game. It would have been such a great reference for this.
clean and simple in a very elegant way - there's really nothing at fault here except for a few small nitpicks ie. the music not looping (this should be just a checkbox in the import settings in godot)
i'd also love to see some bouncy animations for the cat :3
Thank you for your feedback. I must have missed the checkbox. I would have definitely animated the cat if I had enough time.
That was one of the most clean core loop i've played this jam ! I liked the fact that the balls bounce and stay on the game, it give a good pressure, the delay between balls and difficulty curve is perfectly balanced ! i discovered a bug that made me ask this question, when you pause while firing and then unpause, you always fire (without using the mouse) my question is : what's the point of not firing actually ? There is no "ammo" or "timer" that challenges you to not always fire (it's not a critic, juste a game design thinking). It was very smooth at any level so good job making this game !!
Thank you for the comment! I wanted to make an overload mechanic to accompany the flash light turning on and off, but I ended up not having enough time for it. Since I already made the animation for it, I just thought it would be cool to keep it in the game.
That was a pretty fun game! I liked how simple the game mechanics were!
Thank you very much!
Really enjoyed the game feel of the flash light. I wish there was more feedback when shrinking enemies but still very enjoyable!
Glad you enjoyed it!
very simple mechanics but nice music and good start screen
Thank you!
simple and sweet! adding some enemy variety would be great if you ever come back to this game ^^
Thank you! I would definitely love to add some variety to the enemies.
Good Game, I like cats
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the combination of dodging, moving while flashing the lights on the enemy. I feel like im playing an FPS but 2D.
The cat is so cute <3. I suggest to create variations of enemy and add powerups(wider range of flashlight etc.) in the future.
Glad you enjoyed the game! Powerups were next on the list, but I didn't have enough time.
Really fun small cute game! It would be cool to have some more verity in enemies though. Also maybe good mechanics would that enemies could grow back if they are not finished of by the player.
Thank you! Your idea is very interesting. I may look into it in the future
This is cute! I love the cat sprite a lot, especially the little expressions it makes! I also like the idea of having to shrink enemies to beat them. The beam moving around enemies also looks very nice. Good job!
Two pieces of criticism:
1) It was a bit hard for me to see the dark red enemies against the dark grey background. I'm admittedly a little colourblind, but I'd recommend creating a bit more contrast!
2) It didn't feel very fair when an enemy would damage me by spawning from a wall that I happened to be standing near. I recommend making enemies spawn away from the player, or spawning them directly in the play area.
Thanks for the feedback! I wanted to make the enemies mice but I didn't have enough time. For the spawning, I wanted to create an indicator of where the enemies are coming from, so I may look into it in the future.
Very nice concept, I like it a lot!
Thank you
