I like the concept of a tower you have to manage people's ratings of while trying to expand, but it's not really explained in the game, plus there's not much of a goal. There also isn't much to do to raise your rating and turning off turrets doesn't work after doing it the first time (which might be a bug?)
There's a cool idea here but it definitely needs to be built off of and polished. I hope you do!
Thank you for your feedback! I did plan on adding a tutorial screen, a main menu showing the final island to establish the end goal, and some other ways to gain approval, but was really tired and running out of time so I just submitted what was already done, unfortunately. You're also right that there are some serious bugs, especially with the turrets. I'd like to get around to fixing all of that and make this into a more fleshed-out game sometime. Thanks again for taking the time to play the game and write this comment, I really appreciate it!
the title is perfect and i liked the bonus islands having extra money! the character felt great to control and the pixel art style is quite charming!
I like the idea! Interesting entry into the jam that can be expanded upon 👌
I love the concept where you have to please people. I would love to see this expanded!
Neat concept! I like that you can choose to turn off the turrets to make the people happy. I really liked the aspect of the game that was telling me that I had to make changes to the building, it felt like I was being commanded by some kind of zoning board. Fun idea to build on!
Thank you for the feedback! This is the first time I've participated in a game jam and it's really great to hear that you liked the idea. There's definitely a lot that I would like to expand on and improve with it.
