Beautiful artstyle and great idea!

The game is very polished, and the art is adorable—it really makes me nostalgic ^^ However, I find the game quite challenging because it's hard to see exactly what size you need to be to hug the enemies.

If you want to check out our game, feel free to do so :3 https://butterflan.itch.io/spicy-king

Adorable sprites and music. I couldn't get far, because I found myself getting boxed in by the 'frens' and forced to 'hug' them whilst inadequately sized. This is a precious little game, it's inspired me to go hug a fren in real life

Underrated game. Love the artwork! The gameplay is simple but it is a bit hard to tell whether or not you're just slightly too big or slightly too small (I think that's more of a me issue though). Love main character, would buy a plush of them.

Cute game with pretty visuals and fun gameplay! I had a bit of trouble judging when I was the right size to be able to hug ghosts, but other than that, it was really fun :D

I really like the art style for your game and your theme is cool. Sometimes it's pretty hard to get around the gost to change size, but overall it was pretty fun to play.

Love the game! The primary aspect of judging enemies' size definitely preys on my inability to estimate anything accurately, but I love the art style and concept!

Really cute game, visuals and audio is awesome.

My gripe with it is that I feel the game would be a lot more fun if there were a few less variations of sizes! Currently it feels like some ghosts are very close to two different sizes and it can feel a bit bad to miss one and get the other, especially with the sad faces they make!

This is a cute little game! My main gripes with it is it’s not very obvious what creatures are the same size as you, and the size scale when changing is not obvious as well (what is 1 unit?!). It feels a bit unforgiving (once you’re cornered you can’t escape due to the hitbox sizes), maybe there could be a dash mechanic of sorts. All in all though it was pretty fun!

daamn this is a very cohesive and tight experience! the music and the art fits so well together and i loved the intro! the only thing i would like to see is that as you scale yourself up and down you get to preview the size as your dragging the slider. really good job!

Developer

It was intended that there was no preview when dragging the slider as a way to test the player's skill of quick estimation. Though it is not written in the description (I forgot to add it), it was also another way to incorporate the theme as you were built to scale (estimate) the size of the enemy.

The cute arcade style was a great fit for this theme, and the cover of the game was super eye-catching. My high score was 16, and I loved the variety of enemies that scale in size. I imagined there were a bunch of people following the idea of changing the size of the player, but I think y'all executed that trail of theme very well.

Great job to everyone on your dev!
