It's a good game, I had some problems with the movement because if you slide on a surface you can't jump (which happens a lot on my playthrough) and the camera control can be a little difficult to manage, but I don't mind.. It really doesn't hurt much of the game experience!

I love the art direction – the 2D and 3D feel really cohesive – got to 108 flowers in the end! I appreciate that you included accessibility options, though I didn’t try them and am not sure how the gameplay changes based on them. A few things I had issues with were that the camera made me a bit motion sick, the shape of the beanstalk made hopping on it a bit difficult (maybe being able to climb on the beanstalk would help?), and sometimes I would walk right off the platform after respawning to the checkpoint because that’s the direction the character would be facing.

This is a really cool game!

Loved the mix of 2D & 3D, quirky characters, the world & textures; really cohesive style and easy to follow gameplay.

The only feedback I have is rather nitpicky:
-The smoothing on the camera sensitivity is not ideal (for me at least), it made everything look smoother, but it didn't  feel super responsive.
-I really loved the game, but I don't think it fits the theme that strongly.

All said and done, I would without a doubt play a full version of this game, so much room for potential.
(Also S+ on the Banjo style voice dialog)

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! If the game gets updated after the jam, fixing the camera is gonna be a priority!

I really liked the idea here! The characters were cute and the way you made the big plant was pretty smart. Biggest issue I had was with the camera sensitivity, it started to make me dizzy. But I still got to the end with 105 flowers! Something I appreciated a lot was the character having a very clear shadow. It helped a lot in the lily pad sections.

I loved the "If you've got no arms, I'm sorry" lol, hilarious.

Developer

Thank you for playing! If the game gets an update after the jam, fixing the camera is one of the things that will change :)

Great combination of 2D and 3D graphics. Remids me of paper mario games. Everything is polished. Great work

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Our artist took a lot of inspiration from both Paper Mario and a game called Bug fables :)

Great game, it's very beautiful, very easy to handle, and very pleasant to play.
I’m not sure why, or if it’s intentional, but it reminds me a lot of Mario 64 ^^
I think the length is perfect for a jam gam, long enough to enjoy but not too long, so there's still time to try other games. :)
I don’t remember how many flowers I managed to collect because the counter disappeared at the end, but I think I was around 109. Can you tell me how many there are in total?

Developer

Hi thanks for your kind words, it means a lot! There are a total of 109 flowers in the game so you got all of them (I didn't think about the number when putting the flowers, and I really regret not making it 100, but whoops). Thanks for playing :D

Enjoyed the mix of 2D/3D and the characters you can talk to!

Cute paper mario vibes.
Great level design. Good job! :)

Developer

Thanks a lot!

I absolutely love the cute art style and chill atmosphere! Game is really well polished. You even included a nice hard shadow which makes 3D platforming so much easier. Well done!

Hard to believe this was made in 96 hours, fantastic job! The art style is immensely charming, and the level design is great. One specific element I want to highlight is that you did a stellar job with the flower placements to silently encourage the player where to go next and how to become more comfortable with the gliding mechanic. I really, really liked this game!

Cute game with a great style and lots of humor. Excellent work!

Love the sprites, and the caterpillar at the start reminder me so much of the old N64 games :) Very cute!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind review! I also like the caterpillar from your game! Maybe they're family....

Submitted(+1)

I would like that very much

really cute platformer that I played til the end! :) I love the 2D character in a 3D world aesthetic.

Thank you for playing and for the kind words!

Hi, I'm a big fan of low poly and platforming so I really enjoyed this one ; it reminds me of a lot of cool stuff (Paper Mario for the art style, Tinykin for the settings and 2D-3D mix, Grow Up also for setting). Sound design is chill and fun, lenght is just about right for a jam ; had a little trouble climbing the bean in the beginning but then got used to it.

This is going to my favourites, well done^^

Developer

Thank you so much! The games 2D artist was indeed very much inspired by paper mario, and the game in general was very inspired by Grow up. If I do some fixes after the jam, I'll definitely do something about the beanstalk. Thanks for the feedback :D

Nice and fun little game, specially the voice since it reminds me of my favorite game of all time, Okami. In my first game for a game jam, in 2020, I used the same idea.

Maybe I could also provide some advice and say that while the game glide mechanic is really well done, the jump is a bit off. If you plan to continue developing this one, might be worth a rework on this part

I loved the sound design, especially the npc talking blips

Submitted(+2)

Fun game. Wish the bean stalk was a more traditional shape so I wouldn't slip off

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! If I ever update the game, then the beanstalk is gonna be high up on the list of things to improve

Submitted(+2)

great game! love the aesthetics and the whole vibe. The jump quest part of the game (which is the whole game) was really enjoyable and controls didn't feel too bad either! great work!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Your kind words mean a lot :)

The art is so cute, I just found the beanstalk kind of frustrating to climb which is unfortunate when it's such a big part of the game.
