How does your game fit the theme?
The theme 'Build for Scale' was incorporated into our game as 'Building our resistance on the Scoville scale.' The Scoville scale measures the perceived heat of chili peppers, and that's where the idea for our game came from. We wanted a different kind of scale than what might be imagined at first glance.

This is really cute ! It was a little tricky to aim but I eventually got the hang of it. I love the boss room and the introduction of the jalepeno brothers ! If you continue this project I'd love to see what cute bosses you guys come up with ! :))
I wonder what this key can open 👀
The characters are cute and the perspective is well done!
Very cool that you had time to implement a boss fight 🌶
Haha, who knows, it might be revealed in the final game! Thanks a lot, that's very kind of you ^^
That's a lovely game! :) Those little green "Bell" guys are so fearful ahah! Great work!
Thank you so much! (It was a real pleasure to draw that scared little face, haha)
I love the art! Combining 2D and 3D looks so neat.
Thank you very much! It's an aesthetic we also find very cool ^^
Loved the concept and the art! Music is also really nice! would be very cool if you could attack while moving, I think it would make gameplay much more enjoyable! Well done <3
Okay that is one spicy meatball. Love the 2d characters in a 3d world. Games like that just look so freaking cool.
Ahah it's a very spicy one ! Thanks for playing, we love that mix of 2D and 3D too, so we gave it a try !
Love the character design and how polished it looks for such a short timeframe.
Thanks a lot ! We gave our best to make this look a bit polished.
Very fun game. Loved the style and gameplay. Please rate and review my game as well.
Thanks a lot, I’ll take a look at it, no worries! ;)
Fun game! Especially enyed the boss intro, it was very epic. The 2D in 3D artstyle is really neat and definetly hit the spot for me. The fighting with normal enemies felt a litle unpredictible where It was unclear if im going to get damaged or not, but the game was enjoyable none the less :)
Thanks for the feedback and for playing ! Yeah it was quite hard to make a 2D attack that is close from the character look good in a 3D world. We would definitively change the way that we would approach that now.
Super creative use of the theme! The art style is very charming, and I love the silly little characters. I almost feel bad for eating them.
I think the audio design could use some improvement, particularly with the music, it was a bit strange that it was coming from the middle of the room, but that's just me being nitpicky.
Great job on the submission!
Hey! Thanks for the feedback and for playing! I tried to make the music dynamic, but it didn’t quite work out as planned xD! I didn’t even realize we left the sound spatialization on, I’ll definitely pay more attention to that next time!
I Love your use of the theme!!!! So creative. This game is a delight. Very fun. :)
Thank you so much, that's very kind. Thank you ^^
Scoville scale is a take I haven't seen yet - very creative! I liked the style and art - the 2D sprites (little peppers?) were so cute as they were panicking. Was a little confused about where to go or what my objective was, but I enjoyed the spicy abilities! Fun time :D
That's very kind, thank you so much ^^ It's true that we didn't have time to include a tutorial or even explain the story, but I'm glad you still had fun despite that c:
I really appreciate the effort that's clearly been put into making this game. Art music and overall gameplay is very well made. Congrats.
Thank you so much! We really wanted to aim big, and we gave it our all ^^
I love the character designs and art direction! Was Cult of the Lamb a source of inspiration, by chance?
Hehe, well spotted ;)
Really liked the art direction!
Thank you very much!
Nice art and audio, based on a cool concept on the theme!
Thank you so much! We really put a lot of thought into making an original idea.
Art design and music were spectacular! They worked together so cohesively. I like your unique interpretation of the theme!
That's very kind, thank you so much!
Both the visuals and the sound design are really good! I had a hard time targeting at first but I got used to it rather quickly. All in all a really cute game ^^
Thank you so much, that’s very kind!
So cute, I really like the characters and this camera angle.
Thank you so much, that's very kind of you ^^
Loooove the look of this game. I've always wanted to play more Latin-looking games. Miss my Guacamelee!-type vibes. Reminds me of Cult of Lamb in a good way.
If I could give some feedback about the visuals, think the walk cycle looks a bit funky. Doesn't impede my ability to play but looks a bit odd when moving around with the lil' guy's arms flailing around. Also would love a bit more embellishment on the attack. Was hard to tell what distance I needed to be to safely attack enemies. Additionally, the enemies! They looked so cool but I couldn't tell if they were ever attacking me. The only enemy I felt in danger by was the boss with those big green lime balls.
Either way, super cool stuff!
That's very kind and insightful advice, thank you so much ^^
These were my first animations—I'm usually more of a developer than an artist, so it was my first time ^^ But I’ll definitely keep that in mind, and thank you so much, it’s very encouraging!
Thanks a lot for the feedbacks ! It was the first time on traditional 2D for the artist, and she learned more and more through the jam. We imagined a whole world for the game with various cultures (chinese, tropical island and even USA) but the mexican style was our go for the jam and the more fun to try ! And yeah "HEAVILY" inspired by Cult of the Lamb, we love this kind of vibe.
