This is a pretty neat concept. I could see this become a more fleshed out game after the gam. The character designs are cute too, good job overall.

You've got a strong concept here, with a lot of mechanics to play with. I can see a ton of different levels, puzzles, and setups that you could make with this. With some post-jam time to polish it up, I think you could have something really neat here.

I did also run into a bug where dice would sometimes go through walls, and once a dice kept moving without stopping, and I wasn't able to pick it up again.

Developer

Thanks! I definitely want to at least fix the collision bugs after the jam is over.

Hello!

Very neat concept! I would not have thought of it myself and I think it's a create way to teach math to young kids, it could even be expanded to do more than just +/- 1.

However, I did notice that sometimes my dice wouldn't collide correctly. Occasionally they would either pass through the wall completely, or get stuck inside the wall. If you plan on continually development, that is something I would look into fixing. But overall, nicely done!

Yep, I didn't quite manage to fix the collision problems before the end of the Jam. I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is though, so once the voting is over I'll upload a patch to fix it!

It isn't working for me :( I'm just suck on the "Press A To Start" page. This looked really fun so I'm kinda bummed. Looking at the other comments it seems like it's just a me problem. So no need to worry

OHH IT REQUIRED A GAME PAD. Didn't see that. That's a little embarrassing heh. Ah well

Developer

Yes, sorry! It does require a gamepad. I couldn't think of a good alternative control scheme for keyboard. Maybe using the mouse to aim? But that might be too accurate in comparison to an analog stick.

Clean, simple and enjoyable game. I really liked the concept and got a highscore of 18. Sadly some collison bugs made me lose lifes multiple times. Some background music would've been nice too.

Overall though, pretty cool game!

Developer

Thanks! And sorry about the collision bugs!

Throwing a dice off the wall to increase/decrease its value and bounce it into the goal zone is extremely satisfying, especially corner shots to do +/- 2! I did encounter a frequent bugs when trying to throw a dice into the walls from too close. I assume you didn't have time to implement an actual competitive mode but it seems like that would be quite fun if you did!

Developer

Yes, I definitely wasn't thinking like a tester when I was trying out the wall bounces! To prevent the dice from immediately colliding with the player when thrown, I just turned off collisions for a fraction of a second as a hack instead of doing it properly. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to fix it!

Nice job on your game!

It reminded me of a Nintendo DS game, a mario one with pink and black bombs, can't remember the name. Fun game :)
