It was an interesting game which was good to look at thanks to the nice pixel art.
It fits the theme very nicely which is good.
I will admit though, I noticed straight away that none of the balls were really changing velocity or direction based on the characters position and so I just stood still from round 5 - 10 and still won. Maybe adding balls with different effects could be a nice improvement.
Otherwise nice job!!
Great game! Art and music fits perfectly to the mood, and gameplay is simple and fun. Also, when i exploded in this game - i exploded in real life too.
There is something truly satisfying in dodging this crazy balls :)
Made it to the round 10 twice! First time using what i think is a dominant strategy - hidin in da corner, and moves only when something (usually a fast and scary red ball) arrives. But second time i challenged myself and tried to stay inside a circle in the middle. I think, more limitations will bring new nice layers to an already enjoying experience.
Random amount of balls fits the theme, and i hope to see more dice mechanics in the future! Of course if you would like to continue iterating.
I see a lot of possibilities to continue tho. It would be great to have a "chaos" dice of some sort, which can change a basic rules, with effects like low gravity, aiming balls or entirely changing goal to catch balls instead of dodging. Also, secondary objectives (like a randomly spawning medal that you need to reach to have a bonus points) can make an additional challenge to skillful players.
Had great time playing! Very good job!
Presentation is clean: sound effects and graphics fits really well together. I ran into a problem where my first round had 10 balls and round 5 and 6 had 3 balls. I think it is cool to use dice to create thing in level, but it is hard to balance.
Looooooool exploding when losing was the first time this jam has actually made me laugh out loud!!!
Cool little game you got here! Simple but I think it's all polished nicely and feels good to play. Really nice use of the dice mechanic as well. Whatever is rolled is essentially the difficulty of that round. My third run through I was able to make it past round 10 and won so I'd say I'm victorious!! No more exploding for me!
Good work on making this fun little gem!
Quite a fun quick twitch-based gameplay experience, and a simple but effective use of dice to alter gameplay. Would be interesting to flesh this out further by introducing extra hearts or power-ups to dice sides. Very solid concept that I got a good amount of enjoyment out of moment-to-moment. Great job!
Well-executed and simple gameplay loop, with some fun audio and effects! My favorite part of dodgeball in school was getting hit so hard that I exploded, thanks for bringing back the memories : )
