How does your game fit the theme?
The shape of the dice and the numbers on its faces inspired us to create a unique control scheme for platform game. The side of the cube that the hero lands on when spawning determines even the forward button, making every attempt randomly different.
Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?
No
We used pre-existing art
Did your team create the vast majority of the music during the 48 hours?
Yes

This was a very fun puzzle, I'm really happy that I tried it. It's much different than other puzzle games and I like how the controls make you actually think for even the most simple moves. The graphics are also really nice and for 48 hours, this is very polished. Very nice game!
Definitely an interesting twist on the moving dice puzzle games throughout the jam. Rather than having the level be a puzzle, the movement is a puzzle, sort of. While also being a very skill based challenge. Which is an interesting combo to be honest.
There's a also definitely some nice level twists like adding the ability to jump and the forcing you to use it to fly over gaps. Or go through a blind tunnel near the end. Where it just rips away all the info you've been give and see what you can manage.
It's also quite fun to see how far you can manage to fly with the jumping com boing with some pretty speedy movement. Leads to some very cool speedrun strats as well it seems, which is always q2uite interesting to see.
The only real nitpick I think I'd have is the visual indicators of the dice sides, which to be fair, seem to be there more as an extra helper in case. But at the moment they're relatively hidden in some terrain, or just downright invisible it feels like at times. Which with the perspective can definitely make it a little hard to find stuff. Though the perspective is an issue, at least sometimes, on it's own. But it does come with it's perks for sure.
Overall though for a 48 hour jam this was a pretty well done thing. Some nice maps, a good controller and some interesting speedrun strats already. Not the kind of thing you expect from a jam but definitely an interesting one.
Fun way of controlling the dice very unique. Takes a while to get used to but once you do its a lot of fun. In a way you can say controlling the dice is a puzzle game. Nice graphics and sounds.
Interesting concept, but not a particularly fun one.
Cool level design, but the controls are almost "Getting Over It" levels.
I'm not sure if it is intended, but this gives a really high difficultly due to the controls alone.
Congrats on finishing the jam !
It's a great idea. But it's very hard, very labored for me.
This was a really mind bender for me haha. I really liked it and the control scheme was really fun! On a presentation level the game looked fantastic, like really fantastic. More importantly however, thank you so so much for having ui indicating what was on each side and what would come next. Idk what the internal discussion was like regarding that but it was the right call. Whoever did the music and sound work also did a great job, that music is a bop. I don't have any feedback on the presentation, it was very well done, clean, readable, and concise.
Now for the gameplay, of the four levels, I fully played through two before coming to right this review ( I am going back to finish the last two after). The game play is really fun in a mind bending trying to wrap my head around the controls while moving quickly way. If you choose to expand on the game, and assuming the following is not already a level, i think you should add a level where the player dice king has to escape a fire that is growing or something like that. I also really liked that the next move key for each direction was each side and i imagine that this took quite a bit of programming to get working as well as it does. I wish I had feedback for you but I really don't, everything felt good, and played well. I hope you release an expanded version. Amazing work.
Wow! This was a super polished entry and incredibly creative! And the speedrunning potential is fantastic! I thought it was really clever to use the number keys as the controls, and I thank you for binding it to the number pad as well, because the normal 1-5 keys on my keyboard actually don't work! XD I love how each number has its own noise, and the levels really made me use my brain! Amazing work!
So I did try speedrunning this, as I promised:
Thank you, the numbers of dice will forever be burned into my brain.
There are actually some cool skips in this too.
Thank you very much!
We are so grateful for the first serious speedrunning attempt for our little game! Hope you didn't break your fingers figuring out some of the skips or optimal routes (we are really sorry :> )
We will consider making a speedrun.com page for the game and highlighting you there in some way (still gotta figure that out, though).
Unfortunately, we cannot watch the actual video, as YouTube marked it as private or smth. Is it possible to make it public?
Sorry, accidentally made it private : (
Should work now.
Oh my gawd, I feel so happy watching this. Thank you so much!
You are actually set the WR I guess :>
We can't imagine how hard it must be to control the dice as easily as it looks on your speedrun. It is actually mindblowing! Great job!
Can we share the video with our friends or maybe even use it to promote the game?
Hate to say it, but I broke your game : D
Turns out you can walk on air for 5 tiles, if you're fast enough, so I tried to do a minimal jump run.
5 is what I got so far:
Also did an Any % run using those techniques:
Have fun watching! (Might currently not be viewable, since I'm currently uploading them. Give it a few minutes.)
And I don't mind you using these / showing them, just not sure if that's the best way to promote it, given that the usual player will be rather slow on their playthrough.
This is just mesmerizing!
Any% looks incredibly fast and cool, and minimal jump run with only 5 jumps is something we haven’t even thought was possible. Thank you very much for the great effort!!
We are actually working on postjam update and will think about fixing some of the bugs leading to this incredible jumpskip techniques, but the input lag between animation will be taken care of too, so the speedlimit might actually get even higher… kinda terrifying :>
We will be happy to reach out and have your opinion on some ways the game work right now, to not fix the fun out of our game speedrun-wise. Feel free to DM me on discord if you are interested! Thanks in advance!
Also, we will commit to speedrun friendly approach, fix timer, add record board and all that important stuff we couldn’t code in time for the jam. New levels too! We hope they will be as enjoyable to speedrun as current levels
Can’t be happier watching your game getting broken like that tho <3
Oh my gawd! It is so surreal seeing you speedrunning our game.
I have absolutely no clue how you can master movement this good (and also this quick)!
Thank you very much!
The concept is very creative! The controls are hard at first but it is easy to used to it . Sound design is great ( and the music especially).
And it is so polished - Great job!
This game is one of the most entertaining ones of the jam that I've played so far!!
Feels a little QWOPish at times with the silly, unique control scheme (that is a compliment, by the way). Was a little hard to see some of the controls, especially when something is in the way. If you know a die well, you can figure it out, but otherwise it's guess work or a process of elimination which doesn't feel good in a time based game.
There are many game with same genre but this one has a unique controller system. Its a bit confusing but can be fun. But sometimes because of dice size I cant see numbers on the floor. You might add some rotation button in the future maybe. But its a nice game already. Good work ^^
Interesting concept I like it! I hope you publish this game steam etc. as full game ^^
The unique controls really make for an interesting challenge. Not only am I interested in collecting all of the coins, but I really want to make an attempt and complete the level as fast as I can!
I had a blast playing this on stream!
The controls took a while to get used to, but were eventually super fun to do.
I also like the double jumps and corner jumps : D
Only the angles need some tweaking here and there, so you can always tell where a coin is.
Overall a really enjoyable experience!
New twist on the rolling the dice around concept. This one was tough at first to understand, but it managed to entice me and my son with its gameplay anyway. Presentation has a really nice color scheme to it. This is a very decent entry to the jam. Good job my dude.
The idea is really good, I think it's perfect for a game jam. I wouldn't want to play a full game like this though xD
Very nice idea! I love how you didn't use "randomness" in your concept, and the player actualy HAVE controll on what's going on. It's hard, but the fact that player can control the game, is the best part for me after so many "randome" games))
The visual is nice too, simple and stylish. Good job!
Great concept! The theme implementation is really cool... The Kenney assets are really great (I used his audio packs for my game) The game/puzzles are fun and the game looks really good! Well done!
