Simple but enjoyable, did not expect a dice would make a good golf ball :P
Also liked the minimalistic artstyle, really adds to the player's concentration.
A very entertaining and good game !

Interesting blend of dice and golf. I like the way you can 'choose' the modifier on your next shot by tapping it gently to one side or the other.
Improvements could include the ability to preview the course and rotate the view, so you could plan your shots better. Maybe the preview line should follow the ground too - when it intersects with an uphill section it quickly goes out of sight. Also, if the dice stops behind or under something, it'd be good to have a sort of ghost outline to show you where it is. These are fairly minor niggles though.
The main problem is that it's quite random! The dice is quite unpredictable, even when there's no modifiers. I found myself having to use full strength quite a lot just to make up the distance, and even from the tee with no modifiers things like the thin bridge in one of the later holes is a very sensitive shot. Also, the way dice tend to stop moving suddenly makes positional shots a bit more sensitive to power than is ideal. I would try to move the dice one side over and succeed, but to roll it say 3 faces would be nearly impossible.
Well done for creating a fun, working, good looking game in 2 days. Not an easy feat!
I think if I had more time, a lot of those minor things would have been addressed. As for the actual dice rolling, I see how it can be annoying - a cube doesn't really like rolling. Perhaps in future I should design the courses with less need to be so precise. A better indication of how much power you are using would also help in being able to flip the dice how you want it.
Thanks for the great feedback :)
Best play on "roll of the dice" I've seen so far. Every game I've played was either about physical dice or just dice as an RNG element, and this did both spectacularly. My only note would be that I wish every face had both a positive attribute you could leverage and a negative attribute.
One thing I find very interesting is that the face isn't random and you could very carefully roll for jump shot at the start if you wanted. Not sure if this is good for bad but I liked it.
Since people seem to like what I've made, I'm going to carry on with it after the jam. The effects have been the biggest point of feedback, with most people saying they dislike the negative effects. I plan on tweaking the effects to be way more fun - essentially the new effects will allow you to break the courses like how the jump shot lets you skip sections. I realise now that negative effects just aren't fun, so why include them?
Being able to waste a shot to pick the effect you wanted was not intentional from the start, but I noticed how the game could be played like this when testing.
I really appreciate the feedback, it helps a lot :)
This is a fantastic simple golf game that suits the jam theme! Sometimes it was hard to gauge how far a shot would go. I suspect it was because the cube shape needs quite a lot more power than a sphere.
Dice golf, really neat concept. I wish the "powerups" for shots were a bit more unique. The one with too much power and jump were super fun to use, while scattershot was there just to mess around with the player ;)
However I still enjoyed playing your game, it was a lot of fun!
Very cool idea and very polished design! Was really fun to play, Good job!
