The art style is fantastic! I've always loved those chunky custom-printed d6s that some games have. And a great concept, too! Unfortunately, the bugs made it pretty hard to tell what was going on. Sometimes an effect name just didn't show up, sometimes the camera panned somewhere unhelpful, sometimes it just putted in the wrong direction... but I'd love to see what a post-jam version looks like!
Very fun game! I've always felt that open world-roguelike-putt putt games were a genre that needed to be fleshed out more. I loved all the obstacles, by the time I'm working on the last few holes it's absolute chaos everywhere! I did notice a few times where the game wouldn't tell me what obstacle was being added and the text box was just blank (but they would still generate), but honestly that added to a lot of enjoyment for me. "..... is that a UFO?" as my die gets abducted feet from the hole. Great game!
Check out my game if you get a chance! Thanks!
Creativity on this one is off the chart! Great game
Unique idea, nice music and graphic. I got a bit confused at first on what to do then I figured it out. There is a bug when I pick dice effect but the text doesn't show up. And I don't know if the dice effect really affect the dice or not, because I didn't see anything different. Anyway, good game!
What an INSANE idea, that's sooooo fun, and really polished for a 50h jam oO ! The concept is genius, having 3 dice and having to choose is a nice touch, the atmosphere is great... Really one of the best game I tested so far !
My only complain is that the dice seems to not fall in the hole sometimes, and it's a bit frustrating... I also have some blank text sometimes, but that's normal fo such a short amount of time.
Congratulations, that's a top-notch entry : everything, from the idea to the execution, is incredible !
Hey looks like we had pretty similar ideas. I loved how the putting worked in this. (Better than mine imo). It was really nice that you could pull back past full power for a chip - such a smart idea. The effects were also really fun. Having 3 dice was cool too. It meant I always had a chance to pick the best shot in the situation.
I did find it a little trcky to get the dice in the hole though. For some reason they kept hitting the hole and not going in. Idk if this is a bug or a feature, but for enjoyment I would say the ball should be pretty easy to get in the hole.
Apart from that, this is a really great game, nice job!
Those assets look familiar 👀
There's currently a bug where sometimes the hole doesn't register correctly. It was working fine in our prototype, but something broke in the final build.
Thanks for playing! I really enjoyed yours as well - similar concept, but I really like the simplicity and polish in yours. It was a nice break after all the chaos of this game!
This is a really cool idea! I think the scope is pretty large for a game jam though. I really wasn't sure where I was supposed to be going or what each of the faces on the die meant but I really liked the RNG concepts included. Great work!
pretty cute! i felt having 3 die was an interesting design decision, giving the player the choice made it more engaging , rather than "hit the golf dice, > see what you rolled > randomise event"
I do wish that I had the ability to rotate the camera or zoom out though! for the times when my dice goes past the hole.
Wonderful gem of a game you have here! Great usage of the theme and integrating the dice rolling into the game mechanics. I may be biased because I liked how whimsical the mechanics seemed to be from ducks to beach balls to tiny dice, but I really loved that!
Only gripe I had with it was that the music was so goddamn loud in the beginning, and sometimes my dice would go backwards instead of forwards, but that's real minor.
okay game.
