Dice.

I love the minimalism, the art, the music, the gameplay.
But why are the crab people so angry?
Congrats on finishing the jam !

Developer(+1)

Thank you. Will we ever understand why the crab people do what they do?

Pretty fun, but I wasn't able to figure out what was happening most of the time. I was mainly curious  to figure out if it mattered how much you "charged" up your attack, but I couldn't figure out if it actually did or not. It was also unclear which enemies were effected by certain things - for example, when enemies duplicated, some would and some wouldn't.

I think there is a cool game idea here. I like that 1 die was an "attack" and 1 was an "intensity". That idea is really cool, and I think with a bit more clarity, there is a really fun game idea tucked away. Great work!

Developer

Thank you. I think this aligns with many other comments. The area of effect between the player and the dice wasn't immediately obvious.

I really like the simple art style! I had a little bit of trouble figuring out how exactly to perform the actions that the dice rolled.

Developer

Thank you. I've definitely have some similar comments. It's not obvious and an visual effect would have helped show that damage happens between the player and the two dice.

Very cool game!  I think it has a lot of potentials if you decide to keep working on it.  Here's a few suggestions I think you might want to consider if you decide to do that...

-There's a powerbar for the dice but I didn't see much reason to charge it up.  Charging it up meant it took longer for me to get my next roll.  It might add a cool element to almost damage the enemies with the dice based on the dice's velocity.

-It'd be cool to be able to use the coins collected to buy upgrades like more dice or different abilities

-I didn't quite pick up on how things were decided to be damaged, it seemed kind of random.  Might be interesting if there was an effect around the dice or player that showed a damage radius or something when it was being applied... I'm not sure if that's how it works.

-I would have liked to be able to shoot up and down too

Overall super cool.  Loved the music and I wanted more! So that's a good thing :)

Thank you. Super comprehensive feedback and I completely agree with it all. I'd definitely make some kind of dice upgrade shop if I return to this.

Really fun and cool game! I especially like the minimalistic artstyle! Good job!

Thank you.

Fun game, good job.

Thank you.

Really cool idea, the mechanics start to feel really good after playing a little. Great game

Developer

Thank you.

I like how intuitive the gameplay is, it didn't take long to learn the mechanics and optimize my rolling to get as many coins as possible! It'd be nice to have something to spend those coins on, but perhaps that's something you can add post jam : )

Developer(+1)

Thank you. I completely agree. Something to spend money on would give you some progression. I planned to add dice shops but unfortunately cut them due to time constraints.

Very nice ! I really like the minimalism of the game, it was really fun to play.

Developer

Thank you.

Nice!

Developer

Thank you!

The idea is cool but the weapons don't seem to work for me :/
The game looks cool tho :)

Developer

Thank you. I've had a few comments that it wasn't immediately obvious that the damage is between the player and the two dice.

Took a bit to figure out but was a good quick play. I think overall some more game juice on actions would be nice. Just a little more screen shake or response methods.

Developer(+1)

Thank you. I've had a few similar comments and completely agree. It would make the game pop a bit.

Submitted(+1)

Concept is cool ! I had trouble understanding how to play, but I finally figured it out ! (a little tutorial would have been perfect). The only little problem was the lack of juice, juicy effecs and animation...but still I had a great time!

Developer

Thank you. I've had a few similar comments and definitely think an effect in the attack area would have helped with understanding how to play.

Submitted(+1)

Fun game! The art was really cool. I always seemed to have the same attack, but I think it was meant to change?

Developer(+1)

Thank you. There are only 4 attack types and it's completely random as to what you get. Perhaps you were unlucky (or lucky, depends on your point of view) and only rolled 1 attack type each time.

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept. I needed a bit of time to understand how it really works but after this it was very fun to play. The only small note that I have is that you can't shot up or down.

Besides that the game made for a fun entry.

Great work ^_^

Developer

Thank you. I definitely think a visual indicator would have helped make things more obvious and shooting up and down would have been great.

Submitted(+1)

Nice idea ! The game would be even better if there was progression over time.

Developer

Thank you. I completely agree. Some extra enemies and dice shops would have made average play time much longer.

Submitted(+1)

Interesting concept for attacking  maybe would've like the sprites to be slightly bigger because it's hard to hit the enemies sometimes. Pog

Developer

Thank you. Bigger sprites may work quite well. I find it's quite far away from the action and the coins easy to miss when picking them up.

Cool and complete game for the jam! It's a neat idea!
As others have noted, hitting enemies with the dice feels like it should do something.
However, once you understand what's happening, it's fairly intuitive.
The aesthetics and music were cohesive, which was awesome!

Developer

Thank you. I completely agree with those comments about hitting enemies with dice.

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept. I like the art and the sound was really nice too.

A bit confusing at first, but after a while it became a bit clearer. I would have prefered it if the throwing the dice at the enemies was what actually did the damage rather than the effects. Then the effects could add bonuses instead.

Other than that, it was a cool little experience!

Developer(+1)

Thank you. I've had a few similar comments and I completely agree. I think visuals in the damage area would have helped with understanding and having the dice do a little bit of damage would have felt more intuitive.
