How does your game fit the theme?
Our game fits the theme because you have to roll a die which determines the amount of steps the player is able to go on their turn. In that regard our game is inspired from board games.

Love the art style and good choice of music. The music and watching the die with the face and the other smaller ones bouncing around it makes me so happy :). My dumb gamer brain wants there to be rogue-like power-ups for my cube buddy.

Really cute style, I especially like the little jumping dice in the menu. The combat needs a bit more polish but its still fairly enjoyable as it doesnt ever feel unfair. Also sometimes you can go to the same level due to the rolling mechanic so it would be nice if they were a bit randomized. Still really cool game.

This game is really cute! The controls in the Die phase were a bit unconventional a gave me quite some trouble. Also when picking the spin option, seems like it would randomly send me forward or back regardless if I landed on a smile or frown. Overall really neat concept!

Fun idea! Too bad there were so many bugs!

Here are my main feedback points:

  • I like the idea of combining this board game mechanic with RNG system and combat level.
  • I think that combat level should use the dice / RNG mechanic in some way as well.
  • Game should give you some feedback when you hit something, like sound effect, maybe a pop up, shake screen effect or something similar.
  • Make a way to destroy / hit missiles that follow you, it's currently kinda frustrating to just run around waiting for them to self destruct.

great game!

Glad you enjoyed it, can you elaborate?

In the "Die" parts, the controls are a bit buggy (when you go diagonally towards a wall you don't move at all and get stuck on it. Also, there are some maps where you can't dodge bullets because the pathway is too narrow, which makes the game feel unfair.

Also, the "Spin" part is quite buggy and after a while I was forced to spin several times before being able to roll the dice again which is probably a bug.

I liked the concept, having a candy land kind of game with combat mechanics is pretty interesting. If it were multiplayer that would be cool (in the future and local ofc) I had trouble with some of the presentation but I mean for 2 days I think this turned out well. Good job!

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked the concept. Could you elaborate on some of the struggle with the presentation?

Mostly the lack of feedback in combat. There was very little visual response to indicate that a target was hit other than the health bar.

The game is a bit confusing, I have no why I get pushed back a couple squares sometimes, or when I get to roll...

It seems that I only get a roll after I spin? But in many cases it just pushes me back then. The spinning animation looks great, by the way.

That was a bug. The idea was there was going to be two options: "Spin" or "Die". Pressing "Spin" gives the player a chance to stay at their current spot and roll without completing a level; however there is the possibility of the player failing and moving back a few spaces. Spin is basically a gamble. Pressing "Die" was supposed to allow the player to complete a combat level so the player can get a roll without spinning. Except the latter doesn't work. The Spin or Die dialog unintentionally appears after the player successfully completes a level. I'll plan to fix this in a future patch. To bypass the bug if you press Spin enough you can cheese through to the ending (in hindsight I probably should add a limit on how much spins the player has).

Based on your comment, clearly the tutorials in-game are not too descriptive. I'll try to make up for that by including a more detailed tutorial on the game page.

Thank you for playing. :)
