This is quite a fun and unique take on the dice theme!
The game is fun and interesting and overall its a really awesome job!
I think it's a fun game I made it about half way so this might not have everything it should
it looked very simplistic because it doesn't need to be any more complicated
there are many things out there with similar concepts so I wouldn't say it's a creative idea
but I enjoyed the game it was really hard and getting an answer to it was really fun
I am really bad at it.
Its great.
I dont quite get why the diceroll is usefull.
Thanks.
Because it's not.
The plan was to have it scramble only parts of the board to help when you're stuck, but yea scrambling everything rarely gives actual words
Nice little word game!
Could you please explain how the grade and score are calculated?
Thanks! Yea unfortunately I had no time to give more feedback on that
So you get +2 point for each green, +1 for each blue letter and -1 for each red one, but there is no actual calculation for the grades yet... so I just hard coded what I think it the best point score you can get for each level and give you an A+ for that
Thanks for clarifying! Point system makes sense now
A fun little game! I like how the colours of the words acted as immediate feedback on the validity of the word
It's pretty great! It's like anagram but I have to think about how to balance out my vowel usages between words. There's a couple of words that the word bank can't recognize though (like "overzealous")
Yeah choosing a dictionary was pretty tough, most of the ones I found had words like "aaa" or weird abbreviations in them which would've made it kinda easy... so I deliberately choose a dictionary with only common words in it, but for the future I would definitely search for alternatives or expand it
Good fun! Agree with some of the other comments that a tutorial could go long way, but once I got over that hump I really got into it!
I like word games this was one of them. Some small additions would make it better like sounds but overall nice game.
Neat take on the theme, I like it. I especially like how you've got the moving of the letters around to feel very nice and snappy
Thanks! At first I even imagined it way more dynamic, so you'd be able to drop letters in-between each other or select multiple letters, but I had really bad time management this jam :/
Nice little word game, as a non-native speaker I couldn't get past level 16 where the words you have to dice are getting quite long!
This game… certainly is. It doesn’t really match the theme (you dice words, I guess, but the only “rolling” is the randomize button that I only used a handful of times), and the word puzzles get downright absurd (I quit around “Dice at least one word, with at least 11 letters”– are you kidding me?), but it’s a neat concept in and of itself.
Thanks, I should have definitely spent more time on the levels/prompts
Also I don't think every game has to contain an actual dice or rolling? My interpretation was mainly to use "dice" as the verb
Well, the theme was “Roll of the Dice”, which to me implies that the operative word there is “roll”, not “dice”. Still, to each their own, I suppose.
interesting idea! First thought is that I'd like to see a tutorial or at least a clearer description of what "dicing" is. Something like, "Form new words from the letters".
I did feel like the puzzles were too open-ended for my taste. Branching off, I wonder if there's a variation where, for example, you know the starting letters of two words and you have to fill in the rest. Or, the goal is to make new words, as big as possible, with the least number of modifications.
Thanks for the feedback, there is definitely room for more diverse prompts... I even realised after submitting that I didn't even make one actual anagram level (where you have to make exactly 1 word from 1 word with only one solution)
The theme doesn't come across super strong but I can see it. By itself though it stands as a simple yet highly enjoyable puzzle game.
Interesting take on dice with letters. At first I was a bit confused because you don't really roll dice at all. But overall it's kinda fun
It is a pretty intereting game, but I am non-native English speakers and I cant pass level 4.
I'm sad to hear that, a full version would definitely support multiple languages!
SPOILER: for level 4 you can just move the S of MAKERS to GAME(S)
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this. With some music, I might have spent all day on it!
The theme doesn't come through super strongly in this entry, but it's easy to understand and works well. So, good job!
Thanks! I would've definitely added audio if it weren't for a build issue on the last day :/
