honestly, you need more decoration or at least not to make the stage look empty.

also, I accidentally destroy the fruit with fireball and then got stuck.

animation is nice.

Cool take on the theme.

I like the character sprite and the animations are really well detailed for each evolution.

Also like the fact that the evolutions themselves are dedicated for specific tasks, swimming to cross a large pool of water, flying to reach high up places, attack to clear enemies an what not.

I feel there are some small issues though, gameplay regarding movement and physics is fine and responsive, but  i felt i could get stuck when activating levers so i'm not sure if i got stuck or if i was just locked into an animation untill the door opened, but the temporary loss of control was a bit disorienting. Then the background seemed to glitch a bit from time to time, i really like what you did with the distant platforms and parallax effects but sometimes they would randomly pop in or out of existence.

But other than these, the game is fine, and i like how the evolution aspect seems kinda inspired by demon's crest with the whole one transform = one purpose approach.

Solid base regardles i'd say, so good job :)

this game goes goblin mode: fun and looks cute!

Developer

Yes, Impy is my main man!

I love the concept! You had one of more interesting spins on evolution here. I especially like how you can "devolve" too. And your little goblin boy is very cute.
I think tighter controls and more engaging level design would have gone long way towards elevating your experience, but I still had some fun.

Developer

Awesome, thank you so much for the great feedback. I totally agree on all accounts.

nice animations and pretty interesting abilities :-)

sometimes, the player has to spend a bit too long running into one direction.

Developer(+1)

Completely agreed! I spent too long building the building blocks of the game, and not enough time on level design. I started the latter at the 2 hour remaining mark, which was painful. Thanks for the comment!

Cute art style and nice movement.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The art is from Kaishido (here on Itch), and the movement is from my recent obsession with state machines (I used to hate them, now I love them after finally figuring out an implementation that works).

The movement felt great and the idea of the goblin evolving to get to different parts of the map was smart

Developer

Thanks! I felt like there was a lot of potential too.

Nice game! I’ve felt that the scenario was a little too empty, but overall, I had a good time with this game.

Developer(+1)

Yes, completely agreed! I should not have left level design until the 2 hours remaining mark. :D Thanks for the comment!

The flying and fireball-shooting was unexpected!

Developer

Yeah, we wanted to come up with more evolutions, but it was a crunch for sure. Thanks for the comment!

Amazing demo. Keep going

Thank you so much!

Love the little demon dude. Are you going to build out more for this game?

Developer(+1)

Normally yes, but I have a bigger game with this theme in mind that I knew I couldn't pull off for the jam. 😏 I'm likely to go with that one, which has very similar ideas, but is much more interesting. Thanks!

I like the lighting and rain affect. Nice jump motion to. It is quite similar to my game ide to get ability/evolve to get through the game.

Developer

Cool, will check it out!

Nice art style and a pretty novel concept. I'm impressed :)

Developer

Thanks! kaishido.itch.io did the art, and he's always got fun stuff in mind!
