nice chill vibe. The customization options were appreciated and I really liked the writing. Overall I liked playing but the game froze on two plays right after trying to found a new city.

However in my last playthrough (where I think I found and settled on all 9 islands) it worked no problem.

I made a ton of money (almost $7000) and didn't die, but I couldn't figure out how to spend my metal or how to buy the boat.

Fun game! Would definitely play more if you decide to expand and keep working on it.

Hey man, thank you for the very kind words!

For the purpose of the jam, maybe I should have let every port allow upgrades, but in the capital's shop on Jerico you can press tab to enter the shipyard, where you can buy upgrades.

Glad you liked the game! There's a lot of options to go further with this, and we're currently consolidating them. More islands are a must, and I would love to see some island development.

So I found what was causing your issue: when settling without wood, the game goes into the scroll view but since you don't have wood, it can't exit. The check for wood should be before opening the scroll, doh!

Naming the islands and choosing where to place the ports made exploring much more personal and enjoyable. The music and art really fit the relaxed vibe of the game too, nice job!

This was such a labor of love. I love all the work and attention to detail that went into it. The art is super cute and well done, as per usual D4yz <3, the music and sound effects were very fitting, and Willow, you da man xD Awesome job guys, really! :3

The theme is respected, I would have only made the minimap available in some spots which would have enforced the compliance to the theme. The game was really chill which I liked a lot. The controls are good, and I really liked the graphics. The audio was a good choice that fits the mood of the game !

Well done !

Glad you liked it! And thanks for playing! Was a fun game to make.  We felt that not having the minimap left the player with too little information. It can be difficulty balancing difficulty and fun, so the general goal was to make it all around more fun and a bit less difficult. ^^

I like the mood of the game, the pixel art is simple but lovely and the music fits well. The controls are well done exept for some of the collisions. I think it fits the theme allright but the game is too focused on trading than on exploration. The game is realy fun at first but then it gets a bit boring. Anyway it's good, keep up the good work !

Thanks for playing our game! And I appreciate the art comment. ^^

Interesting, not the most original take on the theme in my opinion but the production is great and polished.

This could become a great game if you extend the concept.

Developer(+1)

That's a huge compliment, so thanks a lot Helgrind. We could have scoped a lot bigger if we wanted. The game ended up much  more intricate then we originally intended. ^^

Is the game just a placeholder right now? 'Cause if not, the "polishing" loading screen is taking a heck of a long time...

Also, I think you're missing the pck file.

Developer

I figured with the extension I could decrunch a bit and save the remaining polish for today. Thanks for the PCK warning, I'm investigating now!

Be sure to try again whenever you have the chance John! It should be working well now. ^
