This was pretty neat. I never got to the end though, it can be easy to miss bombs. I just wish it were easier to switch between tools but I suppose that's part of the challenge!

Very fun! I thought the experience was very cohesive. The controls were a bit confusing at first, but they were intuitive enough to be learned quickly. I really liked the visuals. The sound effects are great and the music is also nice, although repetitive.

Love the graphics, sound (the explosion sound was funny) and music. I found the non-verbal explanations to be clear enough. But I wasn't able to finish the game for some reason, 33 coins with no broken gems and I still lost. What's the purpose of the color coding?

Developer

Thanks!

When you start out, you have max time (60sec, green font) and min coins (0, red font).  When you lose half your time, the timer font switches from green to black. When the timer gets close to zero, it turns red.   As you gain coins, the font goes from red to black. When you get halfway to the target number of coins, it goes from black to green, indicating you are halfway there.  In this case, when you get more than 25 coins, it turns green indicating you need 50 to win.

As I typed this out, I can see that clearly this is WAY too subtle for a timed game where you are laser-focused on the play-area, and not the score/time stuck in the top left of the screen. whoops!  This is the great thing about gamejams to help hammer in concepts like this.  I've already got some ideas on making this clearer in the post-jam update.

Thanks again for playing and for the feedback!

It fits the theme in my opinion. The idea is cool. The instructions where maybe a bit not clear at the beginning for me. The sounds are okay. Congrats for your entry!

This was fun! I chuckled a bit at the mouthsound audio, but the game underneath it is quite compelling. You could even say I dig it.

Wow that's a game I really liked !

It reminds me so much of the time I spent in pokemon 4G in the tunnel mining things and I loved that :3 The concept is pushed further by adding multiple layers and by using several tools to speed up the mining process but that may damage the gems if you use it wrongly. I really like the idea and the execution ! Though it took time to understand what the game was expecting from me (I always read the game page before playing and it didn't really help :s). When I understood what I had to do, it was plenty of fun and I really liked replaying the game until I finished it !

Well done !

Thanks for the great feedback! Yea, several others have commented that the game wasn't as clear as we'd hoped.  Based on these suggestions we added some extra indicators to the bombs and gems to try to better explain why you might want to consider picking them up.  Once the jam is over we'll update the game here on itch.  Thanks again for playing!

A really tight and enjoyable game loop, nicely done. The non-verbal cues tied well with discovery - I must have spent a minute collecting gems and letting the bombs go off, not realising they reset the game each time, before I tried picking one up.

Developer

thanks! yea, I went back and forth on how to communicate that you need to collect bombs. I think if I added a clock icon on the defused bomb, it might be clearer that picking it up is important and adds time. Thanks for the feedback!

I loved that one ! Nice graphics, mouth sounds are the best sound ;). The game mechanics are well put together. The theme is fully respected. Sadly the lack of precise objective made me eventually quit the game but i had my fun ! Very well done, one of the best of this jam for me so far !

Thanks for the feedback! yea, we took a chance with the 'Non-Verbal' wildcard and we might have been too subtle. I updated the game page with some extra hints and clarification since we've gotten similar feedback elsewhere.     And yea, I'm finding that I'm really enjoying the challenge of trying to create sound effects with whatever I can find in my workshop (including me).  Thanks again!

Fun concept, the sounds are funny
