Nice use of the theme and visual, if I had one complaint it would be when you die, you need to re-do the level and re-found the fish word which can be annoying.

Anyways the game is great and while it felt like a game “for children” (minus the gore), it didn’t felt childish.

Thanks! Yes I struggled a bit with how to manage what happens when the player dies: I ended up resetting everything in the scene because I didn't have the skills/knowlege to manage it better in Godot, but I think as you say it would be better to just drop back in from where you left off and keep any words you touched already :)

Really cool idea! And very cute visuals and audio! Lovely. At first I didn't like it because I played the html version, where the viewport is too small to play the game. You should probably fix that, because people might turn away without realizing what a great game this is!

Developer

Thanks! I'm not sure whats happened with that as the html export didn't seem to match the resolution I was going for :) I'm a Godot newb so I think I need to read more to understand what's going on, thanks for the tip!

I think you have to set viewport dimensions in project settings on itch so they match settings from Godot.

Ok, now i understand why this is the most rated game. Outstanding in almost every aspect! (Mostly the music, it reminds me of Banjo Tooie, my childhood ❤) Just fun category isn't as good as the rest to me (because i struggled understanding how the game worked). But taking into account how complicated it's to just do one of the main three roles in a team, that this game was entirely made by you it's... impressionant! Congratulations!

Love the concept and most of the execution. Story itself could have used more time put into it, but also was nice to see obvious repeats for the sake of time! Some sort of mechanic to let you read words through the character would be nice as well.

Overall I really enjoyed this one!

Developer

Thanks! Good suggestion about the transparent cat! :)

Very unique and lovely game! Well done!

If anyone has a problem with lasers, the mechanic is tied to the framerate so it's impossible on some screens (tested on 144Hz - instant death, 60Hz a breeze).

Thanks for playing! I'm such a Godot newb :) I'm still getting my head around all the different function calls for processing, physics, rendering etc. ... it didn't occur to me that a 144Hz screen would call that function faster than a standard display :) Thanks!

Great story, creative mechanics. Perfect fit for the theme. Not bad for your first Godot game!

Thanks for playing!

The HTML version does not resize so it's not playable for me. The source files runs great. Takes for sharing.

The last level is not in view ( setting var lastchapter = 5 fixed that)

Developer

Thanks for playing! The end of the last level comes into view after you defeat the mean boy: you can get him with his own laser :) ... unless there was a bug in there I didn't know about :) ... the lastchapter var should be 4.
