Fun and interesting concept for a game. I thought it was quite clever!
nice
i got the ball stuck once tho
Lol. Seems like the ball is blocked by the wall and the paddel somehow... that's definetly not intended. Maybe we need an extra collision layer to detect when the ball intersects with the paddles axis. Currently there is a collision area right behind the paddel.
Thanks for playing and reporting!
Wow nicely done!
It all fits well together.
I was happily surprised when the extra element was introduced :D
I guess by 'extra element' you mean our home trainer. We had pong. We had levers. But it wasn't stressful enough. The stroboscopic lights and the berlin-underground-berhain-techno-rave-music weren't enough, we thought.
So we invented the WorkTrainer3000™.
Thanks for your feedback!
Great atmosphere and art, snappy sound effects, and bonus points for cut scenes with voice over. And I love that the music developed as the game progressed!
I just wish the character would bob in time with the music xD
We got it! You all just want everything to bounce in sync with the music :'D
Thanks for the feedback!
Very interesting game, love the lighting and great atmosphere, well done.
Thanks for playing! I'm happy you noticed the atmosphere. In the beginning it isn't clear how to make one. We just tried to go with our berlin-techno-car-accident-things-happen-to-fast-vibe, and this is the outcome :)
Really like the many “special” effects. Music, Voice-Over, the background. The pong ball was a bit slow. Maybe speeding it up over time would be an option (especially since pretty often I didn’t have to do anything because the paddle was already in the right place). And not sure it was intentional or not but to see the next button of the “You won” screen I had to move quite a bit and buttons did not work so I had to “click” with the mouse when I had both hands on the keyboard.
But I’ll definitely play a couple more rounds.
Thanks for valuing the special effects :)
Yes, some level parameters could be tinkered a bit to raise the difficulty more as the game progresses. We we're afraid of raising the speed to high and player drop the game. But we learned a lot about making an "Engine" with many exports and just use them to make Levels. So I can't wait to reimplement this technique in a new game :)
The Win/Gameover dialog was pretty improvised as it was hard to implement it the right way. We definitely want to do this better in upcoming games!
I really like the effort you put into the game. You guys put in voice acting and cutscenes!
The music, lights, and narration are AWESOME. It's a bit slow but the atmosphere is really entertaining so you don't really mind waiting for the ping pong while you rave on the dance floor at work.
I am really happy to hear that we were able to deliver that atmosphere. It was one of our main goals.
sadly i couldnt play it, it was really laggy for some reason
Sorry to hear that the game experience is lacking :(
