Game Description
How could a tiny robot ever find their way through a giant machine where just about everything wants to kill them? Well, when you have the ability to reverse time, you might find new ways of manipulating your surroundings and getting around. Broken Time is a 2D platformer that focuses on puzzle solving with a healthy dose of jump and run. Your best friend is the ability to change the flow of time, making it go forwards or backwards to your hearts delight. You might be surprised what can happen when you put the world in reverse!

What a beautiful game, the art is lovely and the gameplay very cute and charming.

Developer

Thank you very much :)

Great visuals. Movement felt bit weird. Hard to explain.

Developer

Thank you for playing. I guess I know what you are meaning :)

I definitely echo the other comments - visually stunning for the time, and the audio was good too. The movement felt a bit rough though, but as you mentioned below, it is very difficult to nail that for the scene in the timeframe of a Jam! Great work!

Developer

Thank you :)

Some cool concepts like the air pressure puzzle, and I especially liked the final puzzle! The atmospheric sound loop does the job, but I feel like the game is crying for music to match the excellent art!
Such a shame there wasn't time for more levels - finished in 2:26 with 3 deaths. I want more! But it makes sense to get the gameplay solid, so I agree with your priorities. Really well done!

Thanks! We're glad you liked it! And great job, that time isn't bad at all!

We didn't get everything we wanted to do done, but we had so much planned! We will probably keep working on the game and add more levels, music, sounds and more.

Thank you for the feedback <3

Awesome idea and it looks amazing!

I had fun and found the levels explain the mechanics well.

I did feel as if the character was a bit over sized, but thats searching ...

Developer

Thank you :)

Well, the collider is over-sized, but I guess you mean the scales in comparison. That is probably a result of the way we made the levels. Up until friday it was just collison polygons…

Really nice visuals. The movement/controls could be a bit smoother but I liked the time control mechanic.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. The movement definetly needs some improvements, but that is an area where you can and need to spend hours :)

I love the art style! My character kept sliding around though.

Developer

Thank you for playing :) Do you mean unsynced animations or sliding like in sliding when it should be standing for instance on platforms?

The latter! And not even when on moving platforms, but just standing still.

Developer(+1)

Uh. I probably have an idea what happend, but it should be only temporary after leaving a platform and somehow, the reparenting logic didn’t work. Moving platforms are a pain xD

I enjoyed your beautiful children-book alike graphics and the time-dilation mechanic! The camera fov could be a bit larger, I guess. Keep up the good illustrations!

Developer

Thank you. Michelle and Emma worked hard to create all the assets. Do you know how to adjust the camera zoom according to the viewport size. I didn’t find a satisfying sulution yet.

Unfortunately the game did not load in browser, but worked as executeable.

The artwork is fantastic but the game itself a bit small and juddery, seems a bit like you guys did not get everything done?

But nice game anyways!

Developer

Yes, I forgot to test the html build… It is fixed now.

Thank you for the kind words. Let’s say, there are like ten more levels designed… We were a little tight on our time budget.
