As a linux-maniac, I feel comfortable inside a shell. Thumbs up for your interpretation of the theme :)

Bonus points for 3D!

A very unique take on the theme, and very satisfying to play! One slight criticism is that you can't type a new command while your current one is executing, which had me typing `ward` quite a few times. And, of course, some sound would have been nice.

Oh no! I'm playing on a mac laptop with no scroll wheel and the double finger drag doesn't zoom, so I can't get the first password.

Hilarious, because when I first opened this, I thought "Oh great, I spend all day in front of a terminal" but then it hooked me.

I love this idea, I think it looks great. I'll probably try it again later when I have access to a mouse.

A pretty fun game with unique controls.

But it would have been nice if you could write something like "forward 5" to move more than one unit. It also was not very clear what I am supposed to do, at least for me (others seemed to know). But I got stuck on the first level where I have to move the robot. I did not know to get or move past the boxes to the second room. Maybe a better indication what to do at the beginning would be helpful. (Or maybe I am just too stupid, others seem to have solved it :)

But overall I think the controls are very unique. Apparently it is also possible to write scripts so it seems very thought through. It seems like a very fun game if I could get past the first level :)

Thanks for trying! This is a puzzle game, so figuring out what to do is the largest (and most difficult) part, this is intended.

The way the commands work change for each robot, the first one had very simple commands so it wouldn’t be difficult for the player to figure out at first. They get more complex later.

In this first level, once you reach the boxes you really can’t go any further. But the robot has a camera with zoom and you can spy the other room for clues.

Sadly I can't zoom with my Mac mouse so can't read the [SPOILER] password

Developer

damn I didn’t even know mac mice didn’t have a scroll! I should have put alternative ways to zoom :(

No problem. The Apple Magic Mouse has a kind of trackpad built in. Guess there must be a way to map to it in Godot but never tried

Fantastic! Played it all the way through and absolutely loved it! I basically play in Linux CLI all day for a job so maybe I am biased.. but the execution was fantastic, and I know you were struggling with scope and motivation towards the end, but it paid off in droves. Those models, and the environment was great. Easily my pick of the jam!

Great work. Obviously having some audio would have been the icing on the cake, but everything is SO GOOD. The mechanics feel very well thought out. I can see people commenting, having trouble with the minitank level. To the contrary, I think that the level design in that sequence made absolutely perfect sense, and my eyes were immediately drawn to the drone, and then the test_files provided the extra nudge I needed to figure it out. Blown away by your progress over the course of the jam.

Also got stuck on minitank level, my scripts wouldn't save so by that point it was too painful to keep in control. This was the game I was most interested in for this jam, very duskers vibe, and good models.

scripts not saving? did you use Ctrl+Enter or ESC to leave? When you press Ctrl the text area should be a bit grey, and then enter should save it.

=== SPOILER: ===

All you have to do is get the tank under the drone so you can inspect it from below. So you can:

left_forward -> it will turn like crazy

write right_forward but dont press enter yet. Wait until the moment it is facing the drone and hit enter. It will move forward towards the drone

type stop and wait the moment when it is under the drone to hit enter

once the minitank is below the drone, take a look around with the camera

I would hit Ctrl+Enter, it would turn grey and then I didn't know how to back out back to the console to run the script.

Developer

odd… when you hold Ctrl it would go grey, and then hitting enter (while it is grey) saves and goes back to terminal automatically. I could not reproduce your bug, sorry :(

Fun and creative game! I can't figure out the minitank level though.

Developer

Didn’t figure out how to control or what to do? Try to use it to inspect the objects from angles the wall cameras can’t see
