Nice game, the player movement is a bit slow but it's playable. I also liked being able to challenge multiple waves at once, great job!

The game was fast-paced and fun to control ( a bit slippery though). I also love the way  you handled the menu and the UI. The only big complaint I have is the amount of keybinds I have to remember in the beginning for the controls.

I think this game's fantastic! The gameplay is very fun and chaotic, controls are smooth and simple and the ability to control when each wave starts and how hard it will be is very unique and adds an element of strategy to the game. The music is also good. My only complaints are that the shop menu, although interesting to look at, would be much better if everything was organized in a way that you could see clearly. Also, I often got confused as to which side of the ship will fire when I press Q or E, since the ship is always changing angles.

Great job!

Y'all I felt like a genius designing that shop because it meant that I wouldn't have to learn containers in the small amount of time I had left and I didn't have to worry about how aligned each button would have to be lmao

Haha! In that case, your solution was probably better than having buttons that are supposed to be organized look sloppy :)

Great fun to play and congratulations on finishing your first game. The movement of the ship is really satisfying. I like the recoil when you fire

What a fun experience! I really like the physics of the moving and shooting, and how you have to use it all in concert to maneuver around effectively. Feels really satisfying to drift in to position for the perfect shot!

This was super fun! I ended up playing for quite a long time, as I had a run going that got pretty far.

I think the coolest aspect of this game is the unchanging upgrade price. It means that, at the beginning of the game, you are playing an extremely difficult game, where you really have to be careful and use the physics well. Then, in the middle of the game, you become slightly more adept, and can maneuver a bit better.

But then, as soon as you buy the 0 shot delay upgrade, you basically become invincible, and can easily start racking up ridiculous amounts of money. And then, if you're like me, your pour all that money into all the other upgrades, and suddenly your ship is less usable than it was at the beginning.

And to top it all off, when you just hold the shoot button with this shot delay upgrade, the repeated sounds of the shooting effect make a sound that seems almost divine. The game really kind of feels like becoming a god who can't control their own power. But the thing is--you do have to put in the work in order to reach this overpowered state. And so the narrative arc of the game, with these different stages, and this progression from little-control to good-control to very-little-control of the player character is so epic. It's just a super great experience and kind of unique, all because the upgrade mechanism doesn't have growing costs with upgrade levels.

All of this gameplay of course benefits greatly from the graphics and sounds in this game, which I would say are pretty good. The cannon balls feel like they have impact, and in the earlier stages of the game, hitting a good shot is really satisfying. The particles effects are really well done, I would say.

So overall, this is just a great entry. It's one of my favorites, and certainly the one I've played the longest thus far. 😄

I was definitely not expecting a 3 paragraph analysis on the shop-that-i-added-on-the-last-day-which-i-did-not-think-critically-about, but thank you! (edit: now that I'm thinking about it thats actually genius if a game focused on that (like the difficulty curve is based on the controls (like remember i am bread those controls were hard from the start but this is super smart)))

I like really like the parallax background, can tell you've put in the work to get everything working nicely together. Shooting the bullets laterally is a unique mechanic to me, and I found it very tough to aim. :)

Fun game to play! The ship movement and cannon fire reaction physics gave a realistic control experience. Aiming and firing while also dodging enemy cannons was challenging (atleast for me!). Apt music, tough AI, well-done graphics: an overall good package :)

What a neat concept! Was super fun playing out these epic boat battles. The art style was super awesome too. Nicely done

This game feels great to play, I can tell a lot of effort was sunk into every element, the only issue I had was that for some reason, after I died it took a long time for waves to start spawning on my second attempt, this may have just been down to the fact that I was playing on the HTML version though. Well Done!
