As somebody who gets motion sickness easily, the quick camera snap between fishes when talking gave me a little, but I'm not sure what the solution to that is. Still had fun playing and it was very well executed!
Thanks for the feedback! I thought about smoothly interpolating between the cameras, but the problem is the game camera and the fish cameras have different FOVs... I think the total solution would be to smoothly transition between different dialog cameras, and then fade to black when switching back to the game camera. Maybe I'll try to do that for the post jam version.
I won! Yay! I found 9 sprockets.
This game is amazing; it has a 90s vibe to it, similar to old rare games and ps1.
fantastic work!
The ocean details and missions are enjoyable, making this one of the best games of the game jam so far.
Wow, nice game! It was really fun to play. Great job on the level design.
Also I like the clam characters, they really add more life and fun to the game.
Great game! I like how you were able to tell an entire story and make getting each sprocket a kind of minigame. You got a lot of work done for this jam.
8 sprockets in 12 minutes.. I was tempted to see if there were more but didn't go for it because -- and this is probably my only complaint about the game -- I found the mouse controls difficult, I think the game would still work well with some keyboard for movement.
Having said that.. visually it is amazing, you've really nailed the style. To me it brings back memories of Banjo Kazooie (hunting for the Jiggies), so good. Well done on a very well rounded game, right up there with the best in this jam for me. :)
This game was really fun. I loved the graphics and unique challenges. I especially liked the race. qUnfortunately, I couldn't finish it because the dumbell glitched through the floor. Aside from that, it was a really good experience.
This was such a fun game! It was well implemented technically, had great narrative, puzzles, visuals and characters. I love swimming around with my fish buddies. I hardly download .exe games but I'm glad I took a chance with this one.
I had fun playing, thanks for making it.
3d movement of fish swarms is something you can go really crazy with, if you ever want to do so in the future! There are many fascinating algorithms and interesting math concepts you can use to get incredible behavior. Try searching for "Coding adventure: boids" on youtube. I know this isn't directly relevant, but I find it fascinating, maybe you do too. :)
Nice game! I did not expect a Super Mario Odyssey-esque game using the mouse to control a mass of fishes. Quite original!
The dialogues are a nice touch, as hints are given through them. Adds a lot of personality to the game. The puzzles are simple, but fun.
Be careful designing such large rooms. I didn't like the swim in the middle, where nothing happens without any indicator of where you are. I suggest splitting this big room into multiple little ones, or maybe zooming out further you are from the sides.
I enjoyed it! You can be proud of your work.
