Excellent game! Certainly one of the-- if not THE-- most polished games that I've played for this jam. With the out of the way, I have some ticky-tack feedback of things that I noticed. But my jumping was actually bug-free!

1) Wanted to pause the game so I pressed escape (was in level 2). It brought me to the main menu, but for some reason, after that pressing the play button would only load the credits instead of the game.

2) The mud slime was the most satisfying to use, the vine slime was the least satisfying. I was ready to spit that out once I felt I didn't need it to progress anymore.

3) As some others have said, I felt a little directionless. The levels were quite large, and I think having some smaller early levels (with some fanfare at the end of each one), can help motivate players. In the first level, I wasn't sure there was going to be an ending.

None of these things detract from the overall excellent experience I had as a player, but since this game is taking off I figured I would throw my 2 cents in! Great work!

I really like the presentation and feel of this game. But I also had the jump problem (even with the base slime). It really became a problem when I was trying to climb up the tree with ravens, as a missed jump and I would fall even lower. There was no pattern I could discern as to when it did/didn't work. :/

Music was cool, and the rest of the audio good too. I was enjoying the combining mechanic and how different slimes behaved when I got to those points. Congrats on the submission!

looking very pretty. the itch page is really well done. the game itself was a bit lacking in goal. it felt like i was just randomly wandering around hoping to find something to do. the jump button is quite buggy and wouldn’t always trigger the jump properly, making for some frustrating falls.

Beautiful art and itch page. Nice sound effects and music. Movement feels pretty good. Took a while to figure out I could eat the clovers and how to do that, but its nice seeing what they turn the slime into. A lot of different mechanics implemented for the different clovers.

Nice job!

Very enjoyable little platformer! The different forms of the slime felt really distinct and fun to use! Also really liked the style of the art and animations!

You have a very talented pixel artist - game looks lovely! Over all its a really neat idea - combine the elements to change slime's type, and each slime has different properties! Only gripe is that there seems to be a problem with jumping. Even as a "normal" slime, I found myself needing to spam the jump key, and it only seems to register every 4-5 presses. It is very inconsistent on when it wants to jump or when it doesnt. This happens when sitting still, on a flat piece of open ground, using a normal slime, after a couple minutes of gameplay. Either way, great entry, and a cool concept! Nice work team :)

nice!

on my first try, i jumped up and left and fell all the way down, and could run underneath the level, and was curious to see if that was intended or not, but it didn't seem to be. pressing escape to bring up the menu and clicking the play button respawned me to a new starting location. and so i could play a bit, and loved the combining elements! after a short while, though, opening the menu again and pressing the play button now shows the credits screen, as if the two top buttons triggered the same thing. i can no longer go back into the game without refreshing the page. on another run, i tested it again and, indeed, for me at least, escape button - click play button does change the slime's location, and doing it a second time ends up in that credits screen dead-end.

with that said, the game is beautiful, and the sounds and music fit really well with the style! very impressive project for a jam!

Awesome art, the key map in description was has typo its Q instead of A and and i couldn't understand "vine up"  key!. i also found an x button that didn't do anything. The game pixel art and music was really good. I want to know how you make such awesome fleshed out games within a week.

Thank you for your feedback and we're glad the game pleases you (even we don't know how we managed to do it in a week).

Regarding the keys, there was a strange mix between the WASD of a QWERTY keyboard and the A of an AZERTY keyboard. It's fixed now, everything is indicated for QWERTY. But I don't understand the story about the "x button that didn't do anything"... We have not assigned the X key to anything. Maybe you're talking about the X button on a Playstation-type controller ? If that so, it's for eating.

There was panels to explain the different states but we haven't had time to add them to the game. We'll try to add them to the description on the game page, ASAP.

There is a clickable x marked in one of the tiles in game tile map(wild card click me i guess). it reacts to clicking (button in and out) but i didn't  notice anything else happening.

Developer

That's possible. Some elements in the game are clickable. Just for funny stuff though, they do nothing useful. I didn't worked on these elements so I don't know what are they exactly. That's the surprise ;-)

Pretty nice game, I liked the elements mixing mechanic even if I didn't quite understand it. However the jump control doesn't work properly which was very frustrating.

Thank you. Nice to see you liked it ^^

There was panels to explain the different states but we haven't had time to add them to the game. We'll try to add them to the description on the game page, ASAP.

For the jump control, in some states you can't jump, that's normal.

- In Normal state, you can move, jump, walk on water ;

- In Vine state you can throw a vine like a hook ;

- In Steam state you can fly and go through some obstacles, but you can't go in water ;

- In Rock state, you can't jump but you can sink in water ;

- In Mud state, you can't jump nor go into water, but you can move fast.

Yeah when I say that jump didn't work I meant that even in normal state it was not working very reliably ^^; It was very often straight up ignoring my inputs
